1 Version: BACS_GX_R_AUX Businterface Attention!: If you connect GX_R_AUX to your system, please make sure that your BACS BUS CONVERTER or BACS WEBMANAGER BUDGET II/III will be supply via regulated/stabilized 12VDC power supply. The supply voltage has to be stabilized (+/- 0,5 VDC) otherwise a fuse inside the GX_R_AUX will open. Description & Function: The GX_R_AUX is a additional device for the integration into the BACS II bus system of the BACSWEBMANAGER Budget or BACSWEBMANAGER Budget II/III. It is possible to connect up to 4 GX_R_AUX devices in one BACS system. Each GX_R_AUX has 4 inputs and 4 outputs. With these ones it is possible to monitor dry contacts (motion detector, fire detector, relay contact, etc.) or do switching operation via dry two-way contacts. Configuration of the inputs and outputs: The configuration (description and logic) of the inputs and outputs is available on the http webinterface COM2 & AUX. Also the number of connected GX_R_AUX will configure here: The inputs of the GX_R_AUX are available in the Events / Alarms configuration, where defined jobs are configurable for them (e.g. alarmlog, , RCCMD, etc.): The outputs can be switch manually via button on the http webinterface AUX Status, but also via configurable jobs in the Events / Alarms configuration:

2 Status of the inputs and outputs: The status of the inputs and outputs is visible on the http webinterface AUX Status. Also the status is shown via LED s on the GX_R_AUX itself. Status inputs: Status outputs: Configuration BACS Thermal Runaway: Additionally to the manual configuration of the GX_R_AUX outputs, it is possible to configure conditions for a upcoming Thermal Runaway. Through a connection with a battery breaker, this device can isolate batteries from the UPS according to the US Norm International Fire Code IFC requirements. With this configuration it is possible to activate battery breakers via the GX_R_AUX outputs, to avoid the Thermal Runaway. The configuration of the Thermal Runaway conditions are available on the http webinterface BACS Configuration : Max. difference modul temperature : Type in the difference to the average battery temperature in degree celsius or fahrenheit to define the upcoming Thermal Runaway. Optionally: max. current per string : Type in the charging current in A (ampere), which defined together with the max. Difference modul temperatur the upcoming Thermal Runaway. The entry 0 disable this condition. Optionally: active time of the conditions above : Type in the time period after the upcoming Thermal Runaway will be activate, if the condition ( Max. difference modul temperature or Max. difference modul temperature and max. current per string ) is true above this time period. The entry 0 disable this condition. Battery breaker (number of connected GX_R_AUX ) : Type in the number of connected GX_R_AUX to the BACS bus (max.4 pcs.).

3 Do not trip battery breakers active : The GX_R_AUX outputs will not be activate via Thermal Runaway conditions. Trip a single Battery-Breaker for all strings active: If the condition for the upcoming Thermal Runaway is true, only 1 output of the GX_R_AUX will switch. This outlet should activate the common battery breaker for all strings: Trip separate Battery-Breakers for each string active: Only the GX_R_AUX outlet will be switched, which are dedicated to the string where the condition for an upcoming Thermal Runaway is true (below the max. facility): Assembling: The GX_R_AUX is designed for DIN Rail mounting.

4 Bus Connection: The GX_R_AUX devices will be connected via a separate bus communication cable to the BACS BUSCONVERTER / SPLITTINGBOX / BACSWEBMANGER_BII/III. Do not use the GX_R_AUX on a bus communictioan cable which is also connected to BACS modules. The BUS1 RJ10 port of the GX_R_AUX device has to be connected to the battery bus port of the BACS CONVERTER/SPLITTING BOX/BACSWEBMANAGER_BII/II via buscable. Please reserve one of the two battery bus ports of the BACS BUSCONVERTER / BACSWEBMANGER_BII/III or if occupied one port of the SPLITTINGBOX for the GX_R_AUX. It is possible to connect up to 4 pcs. GX_R_AUX to the bus. Use the BUS2 Rj10 port of the GX_R_AUX to connect more GX_R_AUX devices. Adressing: The GX_R_AUX will be adressed via the 4 pole dip switch ADRESS. The switch setting defined the ID of the GX_R_AUX. Status LED: The green status LED on the GX_R_AUX is blinking if the bus power supply is connected and lit static if the bus power supply is connected and the communication to the BACSWEBMANAGER has started (normal operation). If the communication will be disconnect the LED start blinking after about 60 sec. Design BACS_ GX_R_AUX :
