Applications in harsh manufacturing environments call for sturdy construction. Large measuring ranges permit simpler masters. Good long-term stability and a defined thermal behavior eliminate frequent recalibration. Short cycle times and synchronous scanning are the prerequisites for dynamic measurements. Integrated SPC evaluation eliminates the need for a separate computer. Reliable pass/fail detection by showing the results of measurement in a color bar graph. With respect to their compact and sturdy mechanical design, length gauges from the HEIDENHAIN SPECTO program were conceived specially for multipoint measuring apparatuses. They offer high accuracy of ± 1 µm over the entire measuring range of 12 mm or 30 mm (0.47 in. or 1.2 in.). For even higher accuracy requirements to ± 0.2 µm, the HEIDENHAIN-METRO is available with measuring ranges of 12 mm and 25 mm (0.47 in. and 1 in.). As incremental length gauges, both versions feature excellent long-term stability. Length gauges with pneumatic actuation are available for automated measuring processes. Their superior dynamic performance permits short cycle times. The GAGE-CHEK measured value displays from Metronics enable the connection of four or eight incremental encoders. They can save, interrogate, manage, and mathematically gate measured values. A large number of functions support comprehensive statistical process control (SPC). The color flat-panel display shows statistical evaluations and pass/fail results in easy-to-read and unambiguous screens. The measured values and evaluations can be transferred over the interfaces to a printer or a higher-level computer.

2 Product Overview HEIDENHAIN SPECTO Length Gauges from HEIDENHAIN Very compact dimensions Splash-proof Thanks to their very small dimensions, the HEIDENHAIN-SPECTO length gauges are the product of choice for multipoint inspection apparatus and testing equipment. Plunger Actuation The ST 1288 and ST 3088 length gauges feature a spring-tensioned plunger that is extended at rest. In the pneumatic length gauges ST 1287 and ST 3087, the plunger is retracted to its rest position by the integral spring and is extended to the measuring position by the application of compressed air. Mounting The HEIDENHAIN-SPECTO length gauges are fastened by their 8h6 standard clamping shank. 3 GAGE-CHEK Multi-axis Counters from Metronics For up to eight HEIDENHAIN encoders Compact design The GAGE-CHEK is a versatile display allowing up to eight encoder inputs. The GAGE-CHEK combines familiar digital readout functions with color graphics to provide fast and accurate measurement feedback. Encoders can be algebraically combined for dimensions such as thickness, flatness and volume. Results can be displayed numerically, graphically or archived for process studies such as SPC. The GAGE-CHEK contains powerful math and trig formulas that can be applied to one or more inputs to display complex dimensions. The GAGE-CHEK can be configured to solve basic to advanced applications. Soft keys and numeric short cut keys can be mapped to fit your needs. Two large, easy to reach hot keys on top of the console can be programmed to trigger an operator s most frequent steps. The Min Max function continuously monitors the highest or lowest measured or calculated value. Each input or calculated dimension can be toleranced. Output includes color pass/fail indication and audio alerts. Multiple parts tolerances, SPC parameters, and custom formulas are stored on a part basis so that the GAGE-CHEK can measure a wide variety of fixtures and parts. 4 GAGE-CHEK Features DRO View Large, easy-to-read numerical display with custom dimension labels. The color display provides instantaneous out of tolerance conditions by turning the dimension red. The DRO mode also provides icons indicating process study has been performed, complete with in/out of tolerance alert. The DRO modes also contain unit switching such as inch/metric, absolute/incremental, decimal degree/degrees, minutes, seconds. Column Gage View Color-enhanced vertical or horizontal bar graph. User selectable high and low tolerance limits and high and low warning limits with audio alert provide instant feedback. Historical Data Views The GAGE-CHEK includes integrated SPC studies such as X-bar and range charts. Historical raw data may be viewed in a tabular numeric display. Statistics such as min, max, sigma, cp and cpk are available. Each dimension and all data are time and date stamped.
