3 1. Presentation of the Equipment 1.1 Overview The didactic equipment comes in the form of a compact case incorporating a TSX Micro PLC with inputs/outputs on jacks and an Ethernet coupler. The assembly allows: study and programming of a PLC; connection to a LAN via TCP/IP protocol; creation and use of HTML pages on the embedded WEB site of the Ethernet coupler. A hardware addition is proposed as an option for the study of the As-i field bus. 3/21

5 Technical data of the main components basic kit A TSX Micro PLC, equipped internally with 4 analog inputs and 1 analog output and with a card of 16 digital inputs - 12 digital outputs. 4 slots are available to add other compatible cards. An Ethernet TSX ETZ 510 coupler performing the Ethernet communicating function of the equipment; The RJ45 "RS485" socket is connected to the "AUX" socket of the PLC via the cable supplied; A Phaseo 230V 24VDC 3A power supply Technical data of the main components AS-I plate AS-i power supply/ switching power supply for AS-i P/ Vac S/30Vdc 2.4A. Button box for AS-I bus, comprising two illuminated push-buttons green and red. AS-i connection module with 4 digital inputs / 4 digital outputs. TSX Micro AS-i master PLC card with cable and connector. 1.3 Main functions The training kit enables the study of following topics: Study of network architectures (hardware, services) and setting of TCP/IP protocols. Creation and modifications of HTML pages on the embedded WEB site of the Ethernet coupler by mean of tool FactoryCast. Programming and use of a TSX Micro PLC via a local network. Programming and use of the PLC via the public phone network. 5/21

Teaching 2.1 Presentation of teaching The subjects that can be handled are: study and implementation of a PLC; combinational or sequential programming; study of function blocks (time delays, comparators, registers, regulation, etc.); work on words; analog inputs/outputs; study of PLC communicating functions; - Ethernet coupler; - embedded Web pages. The equipment is intended for the following channels: Civil engineering Electrical or electrotechnical engineering Professional Professional high school University schools Mechanical engineering Engineering institutes Industrial technology The teaching documentation contains a variety of exercises of increasing difficulty. Automation prerequisites are however required. Each exercise consists of: a subject or specification; a correction example with the didactic aims to be achieved. 6/21

Elements supplied with the equipment 3.1 Equipment supplied The ComSI case MD1AE845SI2 consisting of: a complete kit with mains cable; a micro-computer/plc connecting cable; a HUB and three RJ45 network cables. 3.2 Equipment not supplied The PLC programming software (PL7Junior, PRO or UNITY). The programming software for the dialogue terminal (XBTL100X). The computer The measurement instruments. Any other item not mentioned in the chapter "Equipment supplied". 3.3 Documents A technical and didactic manual reference MD1AD845SI2EN. A CD-ROM containing in particular the technical and didactic manual in ".pdf" format as well as the computer files and programs used for teaching purposes. 3.4 Options The AS-i plate with the reference MD1AE848SI can be associated with the ComSI case. It consists of: a complete plate with mains cable; an AS-i PLC module with cable and socket; an AS-i box with 2 illuminated buttons with cable; an AS-i programmer with connecting cable. The Modem assembly with reference MD1AE848 can be associated with the ComSI case. It consists of: 2-56 Kbps V90 switched telephone network modems; 2 power supplies and the connecting cables. 20/21
