1 Presentation for designing and generating process applications (UAG) is a specialized software productiity tool for modeling and generating process applications in a collaoratie enironment. For process type applications, UAG proides a single dataase containing all the project information (process model, control confi guration and SCADA integration). Using an approach ased on reusale control deices (PID, motor, ale,etc.), UAG which complies with the standard ISA S88 and generates the PLC code (Unity Pro (1) & Concept), plus all the elements required y the HMI monitoring system (Magelis) or SCADA (Monitor Pro V7.2 (1) or third-party superision system). Single entry and central information management ensure data consistency and the integration of the control (PLC) and monitoring (HMI/SCADA) systems. Process models Physical model (process iew) Process components and logical structureation of the process are ased on the ISA S88 standard. UAG offers the 6 structural leels from the ISA S88 standard (site, area, process cell, unit, equipment module and control module): These leels can e found again within the applications structure (superision and PLC) generated y UAG. Process parameters for control deices, such as motors, control loops and ales, are set at control module leel. Topological model (automation iew) In a Collaoratie Control enironment, UAG can e applied to the entire process control, monitoring and superision topology. The topological iew includes all deices with I/O points, as well as the communication channels etween these deices. UAG supports: Architectures comprising automation platforms. Modicon Quantum, Premium and Atrium with Unity Pro (1). Modicon Quantum and Momentum with Concept. SCADA systems (Monitor Pro, ifix or generic), Magelis panels. Ethernet TCP/IP and Modus Plus communication networks. Third-party deices. The process for confi guration of networks, PLC applications with their I/O and other deices of the topological model, takes place directly in UAG. The models are integrated ia simple drag & drop operations etween the two iews.. This integration simply inoles assigning PLC I/O points to control deices (ales, motors, etc.). In UAG these multi-faceted elements are called SCoDs (Smart Control Deices). They are created using UAG s specifi c SCoD editor. Defi ning the Smart control Deice parameters and their ehaior in the process control system: control deice parameters and attriutes from the process side (operating modes, threshold limits, alarm texts, etc.). I/O parameters and attriutes for PLC logic, parameters and attriutes for HMI/SCADA superisory. Defi ning confi guration screens for the UAG user interface. Defi ning default or initial parameters. 3 Integrating your expertise in UAG (continued) Modeling process applications Once you hae created the customization ased on your standards and chosen your SCoD liraries, UAG offers you a simple, user-friendly, application-specifi c method of working. The process is defi ned using the physical model (process iew), exploiting the expertise proided at customization and SCoD lirary creation stages. This means that the process ehaior and the process confi guration screens match exactly your requirements. The process control is defi ned using the topological model (automation iew), again, in accordance with your customization. Process design using UAG is made easy through functional analyses. It allows the user to relialy track the exact project status. In order to e ale to detect any error or oersight as soon as possile, UAG analyzes the project and fl ags any ugs at the arious leels of the project, for instance: At physical model leel: SCoD instance attriutes that are missing or oer limit, inalid or missing interlock parameters. At topological model leel: Communication channels etween deices that are not defi ned, inalid or missing communication parameters. At project leel: SCoD data is eing transmitted from another PLC, ut communication with this deice has not een confi gured, the SCoD data is not assigned to any PLC I/O ariale, ehaior on response time for I/O ariales that is not defi ned. This means that your process expertise and know-how is made aailale to e used in UAG, ensuring consistent process application modeling. Generating process applications UAG proides at a single point all the process information intended for the project s multiple applications (PLCs, HMI/SCADA), along with the communication parameters. When applications are generated this information is used to create the confi guration and part of the control logic in using IEC FBD functional language. The following items are generated: At PLC leel: Hardware confi guration, localized and non-localized data with its initial alue and symol, initialization, inter-plc communication and distriuted I/O (I/O Scanning on Ethernet or Peer Coop on Modus Plus), DFB/EFB lock data (information from SCoDs), interlocks. At HMI/SCADA leel: Data for graphic animations, localized data with its corresponding symol (display, alarm, archiing information, etc.), user access rights. At communication leel: Communication drier confi guration (Monitor Pro (1) and ifix), confi guration data for third-party deices (ia an XML interface). The generation process in UAG is incremental, which makes it possile to supplement the arious applications with their dedicated tools outside UAG without any risk. Incremental generation in UAG only impacts changed elements within the applications, which ensures that any additions made using the dedicated tools are stored permanently. Open integration Open integration is ased on all the UAG application information made aailale ia XML fi le format. This XML fi le is generated y UAG and can e imported into many third-party SCADA systems, once it has een customized using the XLS style sheets specifi c to the third-party system. Regardless of whether direct or open integration is inoled, UAG proides you with total consistency within your control, monitoring and superision system throughout the application s entire life. 6
