5 General information Information on these instructions This manual contains important information and instructions, as well as installation instructions for subsequent work on the hardware. This manual also contains binding guidelines to ensure that the duty to instruct is observed through to the end user. The information and instructions in this manual refer to the products of the Roto hardware systems. Apart from these installation, maintenance and operating instructions, the following document applies: Catalogue This manual must be stored in such a manner that it can be accessed quickly when required. 7 Information on the product General General installation advice The MTS/MVS contacts may only be installed and connected by trained experts. Install all MTS/MVS contacts as far removed from the hinge side as possible. Window contacts may not be installed on the hinge side. To make it possible to finely adjust or exchange defective contacts, place the contacts in such a way that the contact can be removed subsequently. Include a cable loop. Lay the line concealed, in accordance with VdS We also recommend laying the cables in conduits to the next accessible junction box. The response values of magnets deteriorate if the magnets are exposed to strong vibration or high temperatures or if they are used in the vicinity of ferromagnetic materials (e.g. steel or other magnets). Therefore, make sure that no ferromagnetic materials other than the necessary Roto components are installed. The response sensitivity of the magnets and the contacts are adjusted to the installation dimensions described in these installation instructions. Non-compliance can result in loss of function. In the case of MVS-C contacts, the tolerance interval between the magnet and contact is significantly smaller due to the increased anti-tampering security. Extra care is therefore required when adjusting the clearance for MVS-C contacts. If necessary, use alignment packers to reduce the distance between the magnet and the contact. The contact and the magnet must not be subject to mechanical loads. This can result in impairment of the response values or even a loss of function. Subject to change.
