4 Roto MVS-B / MVS-C / MTS Window Contact Installation Guide Operational Reliability of Fittings Note the following to ensure permanent operational relability of the hardware: 1. Professional assembly of the hardware according to this Installation Guide. 2. Professional assembly of elements during window installation. 3. Observance of Maintenance and Operating Guide. 4. The window monitor may only consist of Original Roto System Parts. Use of non-system parts exempts Roto from any liability. Product Liability - Disclaimer The hardware manufacturer shall not be held liable for malfunctions of or damage to the hardware as well as any windows or casement doors equipped with the hardware if the said malfunctions or damage are due to inadequate invitation to tender, failure to observe installation instructions and application diagrams and if the hardware is exposed to increased soiling. The warranty only covers Original Roto Components. Installation Note The contact element and the magnet must not be subjected to mechanical strain. This can lead to impaired pickup values and even operational failure. The pickup values of magnets deteriorate when they are exposed to strong vibration or great heat, or used near ferromagnetic substances (e. g. steel or other magnets). Please make sure that no other ferromagnetic materials are installed except for the designated Roto components. The pickup sensitivity of the magnet and the contact element is designed for the installation dimensions described in this Installation Guide. It is recommended to install the contacts as far as possible from the hinge side. To allow for fine adjustments or replacement of defective contact elements, the contact element cable must be installed so that the contact element can still be removed later. A cable loop should be used. The cable must be installed covered in accordance with VdS In addition, it is recommended to install the cables in conduits to the next accessible junction box. Note cable installation. If the cable sleeve is pinched or damaged, the entire unit will malfunction. The cable must be protected during transport and against subsequent damage due to other work in the vicinity of the window. 1. Equip the connecting rod with the hole pattern and assemble the (see WICONA and Installation Guides). 2. Bring the casement into the rotating position. 3. Mark the centre of the magnet on the window frame with a pencil. 4. Drill holes for screws and cables according to the drawing (see above). 5. Install the contact element with the screws provided. To allow for fine adjustments or replacement of defective contact elements, the contact element cable must be installed so that the contact element can still be removed later. In addition, it is recommended to install the cables in conduits to the next accessible junction box. 6. Test the function of the contact element using a continuity tester (multimeter, etc.). The position of the contact element can be corrected by ±2 mm using the two turning knobs. See drawing for the correct position.
