Introduction Introduction: The scene function is supported in the ETS with the parameters of the push button sensors and actuators. In doing so, the device functions act together with the abilities of the communication objects. For example, when saving the scenes, the actuators must answer the scene function's inquiry by sending back the current values via their communication objects. Continue with any key. Process In the following learning unit, you will activate the scene function and the calling up of two scenes via Rocker 3 in the parameters of the push button sensor. Afterwards, you will connect the scene function to the group addresses from the existing project. The last step is releasing the reading flags in the actuator channels so they can be read out. Continue with any key. Page of

2 Challenge Challenge On the ground floor of a private home, two light scenes should be controlled with Rocker 3 of the push button sensor 3 Comfort. The light scenes should affect three switched light groups, one dimmed light group and the position of a blind. The scene function is activated in the push button sensor 3 Comfort and controlled with both buttons of Rocker 3. Devices used: Push button sensor 3 Comfort, 3-gang Switching actuator, 4-gang Dimming actuator Blind actuator Continue with any key. Procedure Page 3 of
The devices have already been added to the building structure. First, the parameters are changed for the light scenes in the push button sensor. Subsequently, the group addresses will then be connected to the respective communication objects of the actuators in the sub-distribution unit and the push button sensor in the living room. You can simulate the input by pressing any key Page 4 of 29

3 Setting parameters in the push button sensor for the scene function Activate the scene function in the parameters in the push button sensor 3 Comfort or Plus. The push button sensors offer 8 scenes with up to 8 channels. The channels can either be switched (bit) or a brightness value / blind position (8bit). Click the Scene ( ) list item Page 6 of 29
Release the scene function. Click the cene function ( ) dropdown button.. Page 7 of
Click the yes ( ) list item Page 8 of 29
First set the data types of the used scene outputs. Click the Scenes data types ( ) list item.. Page 9 of
The first three scene outputs are switched light groups. Therefore the switching function remains unchanged there. Scene output 4 should be connected to the dimming value of a light group, and Output 5 should be connected to the position of a blind. Next, set Channels 4 and 5 to value/ blind position 0-00%. Click the Switching ( ) dropdown button.) Page 0 of 29

Mark Rocker 3 and change the function of the rocker in the scene auxiliary unit. Click the Rocker 3 Buttons 5/6 ( ) button Page 4 of 29
Now select the function of the rocker. Click the Function ( ) dropdown button.. Page 5 of
The scene auxiliary unit function means that the rocker can be used to control both internal scene functions and a scene function in other devices. Click the Scene extension ( ) list item Page 6 of 29
For the mode of operation, select whether to access internal or external scenes with or without memory function. Click the Function ( ) dropdown button.. Page 7 of
Click the Recall of internal scene ext. with store function ( ) list item Page 8 of 29
2 In the fields for the scene number, you can select the scene to be controlled. The left rocker is already assigned to Scene. Assign the right rocker to Scene 2. Click the Scene number (..8) Right rocker input field. Page 9 of

5 Setting reading flags in the actuators Setting flags Set the reading flags in the actuator channels in the following steps. When a reading flag is set, the actuator channel is able to respond to a read request from the scene function in the push button sensor. The communication object sends its current value back via the transmission group address. Important: If there are several group addresses in one communication object, only one is provided the attribute "Send". In doing so, attention must be paid that a central group address is never set as the sender because the answer sent back from the other listening communication objects will be interpreted as a normal writing command. This could accidentally switch the entire house on or off. Continue with any key. Mark the respective actuator channel and tick the Read checkbox. Proceed in the same way for the other communication objects to set the rest of the "Read" flags. Click the ( ) tree entry Page 26 of 29
Click the Read ( This activates the reading flag. ) checkbox.. Click the ( ) tree entry. Page 27 of
Click the Read ( ) checkbox.. This activates the reading flag. Proceed in the same way for all the actuator channels with are connected to the scene function Page 28 of 29
6 End learning unit You have successfully learned to configure the scene function in the push button sensor 3, assign group addresses in the ETS and set reading flags in the actuators. Return to the course overview by pressing any key. Page 29 of
