Place the in a secure location (such as a rack mount or desktop).. Remove the tie wrap from the receiver door handle. Open the door and remove the packaging foam from the front of the CPU Card.. Gently push the CPU and Line cards into their slots until they securely connect.. Ensure the power switch is in the Off position. 5. Plug the AC Power Cord into the rear of the. 6. Plug the other end into an unswitched 0 VAC 60 Hz or 0 VAC 50 Hz line. 7. Plug the telephone lines into the first line terminator card. Connect the optional D6680 Network Adapter (Item 5 in Figure ) to COM (Item ), the top DB-9 connector on the CPU terminator card.. Use the straight modem cable provided (Item ) to connect to Channel (the DB-5 connector) of the network adapter.. Using a CA5 Ethernet cable (Item 8), connect the other end of the network adapter (Item 5) to the network hub (Item 9).. If installing a COM Expansion Package in the receiver (Item ), connect a second optional D6680 Network Adapter (Item 6) to COM (Item ). Order and install the D667 COM Expansion Package separately. Refer to the D667 Installation Guide [P/N: 99875] for details. COM is the DB-9 connector to the left of the CPU terminator card looking at the rear of the unit. Use the straight-through modem cable provided (Item ) to connect to Channel (the DB-5 connector) of the network adapter (Item 6). 5. Using a CA5 Ethernet cable (Item 7), connect the other end of the second network adapter (Item 6) to the network hub (Item 9). 6. Connect a PC (Item 0) with an Ethernet card to the network using a CA5 Ethernet cable (Item ). his PC connects to the network for D600 software applications and for configuring the network adapters. 7. Apply power to the network adapters. 8. Using this PC, configure the network adapters through a elnet connection. Refer to the section entitled Configuration of the D6680 Network Adapter(s) in the NetCom System Guide (P/N: 9987) for more details. Contact the network administrator for assistance.
