The Luminometer Lightweight and fully portable the HY-LiTE 2 luminometer has a large easy-to-read graphic display and a built-in printer. It can be operated as a test only device with direct printout results; as a test and store device storing up to 2000 results for later printing or downloading to a PC; or as part of an HACCP plan using TREND 2 software... a powerful analysis and data presentation package running on Windows. The HY-LiTE 2 luminometer compensates for temperature changes guaranteeing accuracy regardless of changes in testing environments. It is also the only instrument on the market with a built-in light standard which means the unit never has to be recalibrated. 5.2

3 The Process The HY-LiTE 2 hygiene tracking system works by detecting ATP (adenosine triphosphate), a substance found in all living cells and in most biological materials. Unlike traditional microbila methods which detect the presence of bacteria and other micro-organisms, ATP detection also reveals the presence of residues, even on superficially sterilized surfaces, potentially capable of supporting microbial contamination. A sample from the test area is mixed with the enzyme reagent in the HY-LiTE Pen. Any ATP present reacts with the enzyme and produces light. This is measured when the pen is placed inside the HY-LiTE meter. The more ATP present, the brighter the light and the greater the reading. This indicates the amount of microbiological contamination, food residue or animal debris in a crevice, on a surface or in a rinse water sample. The Pens The sampling pens are one-shot devices and are ready to use right out of the package. They come in two formats; one for surface testing and one for rinse water control. Containing all the reagents necessary in the correct amounts, each pen is a self contained sampling device, test chamber and reagent dispenser. The HY-LiTE 2 pens are not affected by sanitizers in working strength so you can be sure of the integrity of the test results. And our pens have a shelf life of 18 months from day of C. TREND 2 Software The HY-LiTE 2 comes with TREND 2 software which really sets it apart from other instruments of its kind. The unit allows for bi-directional interface with a PC. When used in conjuction with the TREND 2 software, you have a powerful tool to create new protocols for the instrument itself and also to manage, archive and monitor test results over time. Trend analysis allows you to see and monitor improvements in hygiene standards. You can also set Pass/Fail limits and program them into the instrument to address different sites and processes. Or use it to set up sampling programs for QC and write custom HACCP plans. Trend2 version 2.0 is compatible with: Windows 3.x, 95, 98, NT. 6 HY-RiSE Rapid Hygiene Test For Assessing The Cleanliness of Surfaces and CIP Rinse Waters HY-RiSE Test Strips make it easy to test at ATP sensitivity without instruments... using simple, cost effective NAD-based testing you can perform in minutes. HY-RiSE Test Strips give you comparable results to those of much more sophisticated ATP-based equipment. In test results, the HY-RiSE Test Strips using NAD (Nicotinamide Adenine Dincluetide) as the bioindicator were on a par with results obtained using ATP as the bioindicator. The difference being the speed, ease of use, and convenience of the HY-RiSE Test Strip as opposed to that of the more costly, complex instrument-based ATP procedures. Regardless of your work environment or the processes being used, when it comes to testing for cleanliness, swabs just aren t reliable enough. 7 1 2 To begin the test open the foil pouch and remove the test strip. For dry, smooth surfaces and hand testing add one drop of reagent A to the small pad on the end of the strip. For liquid testing there is no need to add reagent A. 3 Dry Surface Testing Hand Testing CIP Rinse Waters With the wetted pad side in contact with the surface to be tested, drag approximately 30 cm in one direction. When testing hands take swipes from each of the areas indicated by blue in the photo above. Use just one strip per hand and swipe each location once. 4 5 Dip the padded end into the CIP rinse water or add a drop or two with a pipette. After your sample has been taken, add one drop of reagent B to the pad, immediately followed by one drop of reagent C. 6 7 Slide the pad end of the strip back into the foil pouch and let it sit for 4-5 minutes. The temperature should be between C. D I R T Y Remove the strip and read the results. Now seeing is believing. Any visible discoloration means that there are residues present and further cleaning is necessary. CLEAN 5.7
