Programming Procedure (8) : Plug-in the programming cable, Panasonic P/N EB-W0134, and turn on the 13.8Vdc power supply. The phone should wake up. The programming cable and power cable are not interchangeable. To make a programming cable from the power cable, remove the plastic cap from the cable connector housing at the tranceiver end of cable and jumper pins 3 and 2. See the figure below. Or, just jumper the two pins (some tweezers work well) and use the (fully charged) internal battery. Remove the jumper for normal radio operation. Enter, 0, 0, 0, 0, #. Display will indicate 0 Enter, 1, SND jumper (Disregard numbers stamped on the connector body.) Display will indicate 1 (View from transceiver side) NAM Entries: NAM entries may be made in any order. Enter the digits for the entry you want to add or change, then press STO and the location for the data you have entered. For example, to enter the phone number, press , STO, 02. (2) Speed Dial Number is a single unalterable memory number (RCL 00). (3) Select only one of these three items. (4) For continuous DTMF tone when key is depressed, set to 1. (5) To abort and reenter programming mode without changes, press STO, #, #. To abort programming and leave the programming mode, press END. (6) If the wrong number of digits is entered for a particular storage location, the display will indicate ERROR. Reenter the correct digits. (7) Select only oneof these two items. (8) Phone will not program if Auto Lock is a 1 and the phone is locked! ESN Calculation The chassis serial number corresponds to the decimal ESN in this radio. Add in front of the six-digit serial number. If the serial number stamped on the radio is over six digits (like N ), use the formula (N times 262,144) plus equals the six digit decimal ESN. For example, if the stamped number is , the decimal six digit ESN is (1 times 262,144) or Add to the left and the complete ESN is Reading the ESN via the handset 1. Using the programming cable or jumpering as shown previously, enter, 0, 0, 0, 0, #. Display will show a 0 2. Then enter, 3, SND. Display will show a 3 3. Press 1, 1, SND Display will show (10-digit) decimal ESN. Note that since the display is only 10-digits, the leading 1 for 136 manufacturer s decimal code is omitted. Rev Page Curtis NAMFAX
