6 THE VAPR VUE SYSTEM WITH COOLPULSE TECHNOLOGY: QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE Wireless pairing process Press and hold the Wireless Footswitch Select/Pair button for 2 seconds Display will read Hold Footswitch Face Up Hold footswitch in a horizontal position with pedals facing upward in close proximity (61 cm or less) in front of the generator Progress bar on the bottom of the display will fill up As the progress bar gets close to filling the bottom line of the display, prepare to turn the footswitch upside down Display will read Hold Footswitch Face Down Promptly turn and then hold footswitch in a horizontal position with pedals facing downward in close proximity (61 cm or less) in front of the generator Progress bar on the bottom of the display will fill up Successful pairing is confirmed by audible beep and by display message Pass Footswitch is now ready to use Note: Once a footswitch is paired to a generator, it will remain paired to this specific generator, even when generator is switched off and on or after the footswitch batteries are changed. 5 DePuy Synthes VAPR VUE Product Overview and Surgical Technique

7 THE VAPR VUE SYSTEM WITH COOLPULSE TECHNOLOGY: QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE Troubleshooting Error and Fault Symbol Interpretation and Recovery Most technical problems are indicated by either an error or fault symbol that appears in the generator display window. The VAPR VUE System constantly performs self-checking to ensure its correct operation. Fault codes are reported to the user based on time and weighting of those self-checks. An error symbol indicates an accessory malfunction or a generator component failure that requires servicing of the equipment. These symbols include a code number to be used by Mitek Sports Medicine technical service to diagnose why the system failed. A fault symbol indicates a transient non-hazardous event and can be corrected by resetting the system. Recovery Resetting Generator Faults and Errors Warning: An error symbol indicates an equipment malfunction, which may be hazardous. Disconnect all accessories and switch the generator off. Switch the generator back on and if the self-test is completed satisfactorily as evidenced by the ATTACH INSTRUMENT message on the display, the failure occurred in the accessories, which should be discarded and replaced. If the self-test fails, then all functions will be inhibited and no attempt should be made to use the generator. Contact Mitek Sports Medicine customer service for assistance. Note: Remember to take note of the fault/error code for reporting to customer service before completing the reset. Corrective Action: Reset the generator by either: pressing and releasing the MODE button once or disconnecting the instrument and switching the generator off and restarting.
