VELOCI-T IMPORTANT GUIDELINES 1) In order to keep your Veloci-T running well, you must print at least 15 shirts per week*. 2) We highly recommend that you print at least 36 shirts within 7 days of setting up your printer. Printing just a handful of shirts is not enough to learn how to use the printer. You must print a few dozen shirts before you start getting the hang of it. 3) A high-speed internet connection is required for software support. To help you with software, we prefer to remotely connect to your computer using a secure program. This speeds up software support a great deal, but it requires a good internet connection. 4) An HD webcam and Skype are required for hardware support. (Skype is video chat software available for free). Letting our techs see the printer through a video chat improves our ability to help you with any questions you have on the hardware. 5) Equipment Zone is here to answer any questions you may have. For telephone support, submit a support ticket at: Or if you don t have access to the Internet, call us at For general questions, the Veloci-T Community Forum, a private forum for Veloci-T owners, is a good place to go. Register for a free account at: *You may flush the printer if you are unable to print at least 15 shirts per week, or if you are going on vacation, etc. Follow the How to Flush Your Veloci-T guide in the manual or at

1: How to Set Up Your Veloci-T 1: How to Set Up Your Veloci-T Written By: Equipment Zone Step 1 1: How to Set Up Your Veloci-T After you've opened up the Veloci-T's cardboard box, remove all the cardboard packaging. With another person's help, lift the printer out of the box and onto a sturdy table. Pick up the Veloci-T using the recessed handles that are located at the front and back of the printer. Do not attempt to lift the Veloci-T by yourself. It's not very heavy, but it still requires two people to lift it guides.equipmentzone.com Page 1 of 7

1: How to Set Up Your Veloci-T Step 2 Some of the items you'll find inside the box: Blue printer cover. Use this to cover the printer at night or during extended periods of downtime. USB cable (6 foot). Power cable. 120 volt. Should be plugged into a quality surge protector. USB dongle. Connect this to your computer before installing the software. Be careful not to lose this -- it is required in order to operate the software. Step 3 Now it's time to install the external maintenance bottle. Locate the clear plastic hose on the back right of the printer. Then, locate the external maintenance bottle guides.equipmentzone.com Page 2 of 7

1: How to Set Up Your Veloci-T Step 4 Unscrew the cap. Then, push the plastic hose through the hole in the cap. This might take a little effort. Step 5 Screw the cap back onto the bottle. Push the hose through the cap a little more, making sure to leave some slack so that the hose is not too tight. Use the velcro on the back of the external maintenance tank to secure it to the side of the printer guides.equipmentzone.com Page 3 of 7

1: How to Set Up Your Veloci-T Step 6 Slide the silver and black shirt holder out of the printer. Set it aside for now. For purposes of setup, you can pull the shirt holder out from the front or the back of the printer. Step 7 Now that the shirt holder is removed, place the bubble level on the bed. Check the middle bubble. If it's not centered, adjust one of the four feet on the Veloci-T until the printer is level. Screw the feet up or down to adjust the height. When you're done, remove the level guides.equipmentzone.com Page 4 of 7

1: How to Set Up Your Veloci-T Step 8 A quick overview of the control panel on the right side of the Veloci-T: The top button is the print cancel button. You'll use this rarely. The second button is the ink button. The light turns on if an ink cartridge needs to be replaced. (Note: when you turn on your printer for the first time, this light will be on. This is normal.) The bottom button is the load media button. The light turns on if you try to print a graphic but your shirt holder isn't loaded. Step 9 Plug the power cord into the printer, and plug the prong end into a good quality surge protector. Plug the surge protector into a standard, 120V grounded outlet guides.equipmentzone.com Page 5 of 7

2: How to Fill Veloci-T Cartridges Step 1 2: How to Fill Veloci-T Cartridges Here's how to fill the cartridges for the Veloci-T Direct-to-Garment Printer. Here's what you'll need: Ink bottles. (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black and the bottle of Cleaning Solution.) Syringes. We give you five, one for each color plus one for the cleaning solution. Cartridges. The Veloci-T has five in total. A plastic cup, or a similar container. To be used to fill up the syringe more easily guides.equipmentzone.com Page 2 of 9

2: How to Fill Veloci-T Cartridges Step 2 There are five cartridges. One cyan, one magenta, one yellow, and two black cartridges. On the Veloci-T, one of the black cartridges should be filled with cleaning solution. Make sure to put this cartridge in the CL slot when we put the cartridges into the printer later. The two black cartridges are identical other than the fact that one will be filled with black ink and one will be filled with cleaning solution. NOTE: Your cartridges may appear slightly different from the type in the photo guides.equipmentzone.com Page 3 of 9

2: How to Fill Veloci-T Cartridges Step 3 One of the black ink cartridges should have a CL label on it. This is the cartridge that should be filled with cleaning solution. If your cartridge is missing that label, stick an extra CL sticker onto it. Step 4 Remove both the clear plug and the colored plug from the top of the cartridge. These pull straight out from the top. Use your hands, not any tools, to remove them. If your cartridge has two colored plugs and no clear plugs, remove both colored plugs instead guides.equipmentzone.com Page 4 of 9

2: How to Fill Veloci-T Cartridges Step 5 Once the plugs are removed, it's time to fill your syringe. Pour just a little ink into the cup. You'll need less than an ounce. It's often easier to fill the syringe from a plastic cup than straight from the bottle. Plus, this method helps avoid sucking air into the syringe. Step 6 Remove the syringe from its packaging. Don't worry - the syringe isn't sharp. It's also entirely made of plastic guides.equipmentzone.com Page 5 of 9

2: How to Fill Veloci-T Cartridges Step 7 Screw the beige plastic tip onto the syringe. It takes about two turns until it screws on all the way. Step 8 Stick the tip of the syringe into the cup of ink. Pull back on the plunger until you've filled the syringe up to about the 12 cc mark. Keeping the tip of the syringe submerged in the ink as you pull will limit the amount of air which gets into your syringe. That's a good thing guides.equipmentzone.com Page 6 of 9

2: How to Fill Veloci-T Cartridges Step 9 Here's what the syringe should look like when it is filled with ink. Again, fill to the 12 cc line. You don't have to be exact. cc is the exact same measurement as ml. So you're filling your syringe with 12 ml of ink. Step 10 Locate the filler hole. This will be towards the back side of the cartridge, the side that has the ink chips. The filler hole will also have a recessed area around it. This area will help to catch excess ink if you accidentally fill your cartridge too much guides.equipmentzone.com Page 7 of 9

2: How to Fill Veloci-T Cartridges Step 11 Put the syringe into the filler hole all the way. You'll be creating a seal with the top of the cartridge. It doesn't have to be a tight seal. Push down on the plunger and fill the cartridge with ink. You don't need to fill the cartridge up 100% of the way. 95% full is fine. You will rarely use all the ink in the syringe to fill up the cartridge. That's ok. Just squirt it back into the bottle. Step 12 Put the colored plug back in the filler hole. Leave the clear plastic cap out of the other hole. That hole is the air hole. The air hole should only be covered when you are transporting the printer or leaving the printer unused for a length of time guides.equipmentzone.com Page 8 of 9

2: How to Fill Veloci-T Cartridges Step 13 Over a sink, separate the plunger of the syringe from the body. Clean the plunger and the body of the syringe with warm water. Step 14 Push the plunger back into the syringe. his document was last generated on PM 2012 guides.equipmentzone.com Page 9 of 9

Follow the steps in this guide to reset the cartridge and turn off the ink light. Press and release the ink button once. Step 4 The ink droplet arrow points at the cartridge that should be refilled/replaced guides.equipmentzone.com Page 3 of 8

3: Putting Cartridges Into the Veloci-T Printer Step 5 Press the Ink button again. If the ink droplet arrow is pointing at another spot on the sticker, continue with this step. If the ink droplet arrow is pointing at the silver metal, proceed to step The ink droplet arrow is now pointing at the next cartridge that needs to be refilled/replaced. Press the Ink Button again (up to four times) until the ink droplet arrow is pointing at the silver metal guides.equipmentzone.com Page 4 of 8

3: Putting Cartridges Into the Veloci-T Printer Step 6 This spot, pointing to the silver metal, just to the right of the yellow label is the Cartridge Replacement Position. You must make sure the arrow is pointing to the Cartridge Replacement Position before removing or inserting any cartridges. You won't damage anything if you remove or insert cartridges at another time. However, the only way to get the ink light to turn off is by only removing or inserting cartridges while in the Cartridge Replacement Position. Step 7 Now that the print head is in the Cartridge Replacement Position, open the black cover using the gray tab guides.equipmentzone.com Page 5 of 8

3: Putting Cartridges Into the Veloci-T Printer Step 8 Remove the cartridge(s) that was indicated in Steps 4 and 5. Refill the cartridge(s), if necessary. Proceed to the next step for instructions on putting the cartridge(s) back in. Step 9 Ink cartridges should be ordered using the sticker as a guide. Push the cartridge down until it clicks into place. The order of the cartridges is BLACK-CLEANING SOLUTION-CYAN-MAGENTA-YELLOW 2013 guides.equipmentzone.com Page 6 of 8

3: Putting Cartridges Into the Veloci-T Printer Step 10 Again, make sure that the clear plastic plugs are removed and the colored plugs stay in place. Step 11 Then close the cartridge cover by pushing it down until it clicks into place guides.equipmentzone.com Page 7 of 8

3: Putting Cartridges Into the Veloci-T Printer Step 12 Close the smoky gray cover. Press the ink button once. This will start an ink charge that takes about 90 seconds. After the charge is finished, the cartridge replacement is complete and you can continue printing. his document was last generated on AM 2013 guides.equipmentzone.com Page 8 of 8

4: How to Perform a Nozzle Check on the Veloci-T Step 5 Make sure the shirt holder is properly loaded. Then Click the Print Nozzle Check Pattern button. The nozzle check pattern is a row of three boxes made up of dashes. These three boxes will have printed on the top edge of the shirt holder and paper. Compare your nozzle check to the third image. The leftmost box is the K or Black Ink nozzle, followed by a transparent box of the cleaning solution, and then rightmost box consists of the three color nozzles on top of each other. You should see a third of Yellow, then Magenta, and Cyan and the bottom. If there are significant sections missing dashes, then you should perform a head cleaning by holding the gray Ink button (the one with the ink droplet) for three seconds. If there are only a few dashes missing, then the process of printing will likely refill those nozzle sections. If the nozzle check is perfect or only missing one or two dashes, you are set to print! his document was last generated on PM 2012 guides.equipmentzone.com Page 4 of 4

How to Flush Your Veloci-T Direct-To-Garment Printer How to Flush Your Veloci-T Direct-To-Garment Printer Written By: Equipment Zone Step 1 How to Flush Your Veloci-T Direct-To-Garment Printer Prepare your Cleaning Cartridge set for use. Make sure that each of the five Cleaning Cartridges is filled with cleaning solution. Fill them in the same manner that you would an ink cartridge. Use a clean syringe; if necessary, unscrew the plastic tip from a syringe and clean both it and the inside of the syringe with warm water. The cleaning cartridges should be filled at least three-fourths of the way with solution. You will need to refill them once during the process in order to fully flush the machine guides.equipmentzone.com Page 1 of 8

How to Flush Your Veloci-T Direct-To-Garment Printer Step 2 Make sure the printer is turned on and in its resting state. Press the Ink Button once and wait for the carriage to move across the width and back to ink labels. If the carriage arrow indicator stops at a ink label, push the Ink Button again until the white arrow is in the reset position, about an inch-and-a-half past the yellow label. Open the cover of the carriage to expose the cartridges. Put the round plastic breather plugs back into each cartridge. This will prevent them from leaking when left of the machine. Remove the ink cartridges and replace them with the Cleaning Cartridges. The two black Cleaning Cartridges are interchangeable, while the three color ones must go into their respective slots guides.equipmentzone.com Page 2 of 8

How to Flush Your Veloci-T Direct-To-Garment Printer Step 3 Remove the round plastic breathers from each Cleaning Cartridge and close the carriage cover. Press the Ink Button and the carriage will move back over the capping station. Wait about 45 seconds for the initial prime to finish. If the Ink Light stays on, then either a cartridge is not in it's respective slot or a chip failed to contact the pins. Press the Ink Button again and the carriage will move to indicate which cartridges need to be set again. Remember to reset the cartridges while the carriage is in the reset position, past the yellow label! The chips do not reset when the arrow indicator is pointing to an ink label. If the prime occurred successfully and the Ink Light stay off, then you are ready to run the necessary Ink Charges guides.equipmentzone.com Page 3 of 8

How to Flush Your Veloci-T Direct-To-Garment Printer Step 4 Open the Adjustment Program. This is found on the software disc in its own folder. You can run it right off of the disc. Double-click to open the file called AdjProg.exe or just AdjProg. Click Accept. Then click Particular Adjustment Mode. Find and double-click Ink Charge in the list of actions guides.equipmentzone.com Page 4 of 8

How to Flush Your Veloci-T Direct-To-Garment Printer Step 5 Click the Ink Charge button. The Ink Charge is a powerful variant of the Head Cleaning, and is used in order to fully flush the print head nozzles. An Ink Charge usually takes 60 seconds. Once the first one finishes, click the Ink Charge button again to run a second one. Watch the fluid being pumped through the waste tank hose. It should start to look lighter. Click the Ink Charge button a third time after the second charge finishes. The goal of flushing is to replace all the ink in the print head with solution and flush out the capping station pad. You will want to perform at least five Ink Charges to fully flush the head and capping pad. Keep clicking Ink Charge (after the machine is finished with a current charge) until you get an Ink Out message. This usually occurs on the third or fourth Charge guides.equipmentzone.com Page 5 of 8

How to Flush Your Veloci-T Direct-To-Garment Printer Step 6 When the Adjustment Program displays an Ink Out error after having clicked the Ink Charge button, you will notice that the Ink Light on the printer is red as well. Click OK on the error message. Press the Ink Button on the printer. There is a chance that the Ink Light will go out and the carriage will slide right to the reset position. If this is the case, open the cover and refill all the cartridges one by one. The two black cartridges will likely be empty. The color ones should still be about half full. Replace the cartridges and hit the Ink Button. If the carriage did stop at a label (the two black labels most likely), press the Ink Button until the carriage is in the reset position. Open the cover and refill the cartridges one by one. After refilling the cartridges in the reset position, close the cover and press the Ink Button to return the carriage to the capping station. If the Ink Light had turned off during this refill process, and now is on, reset the chips like normal, again using the Ink Button guides.equipmentzone.com Page 6 of 8

How to Flush Your Veloci-T Direct-To-Garment Printer Step 7 Once the cartridges are refilled and the Ink Light is off, run two more Ink Charges from the Adjustment Program. The fluid in the waste tank hose should be transparent by this point. Make sure that you have performed a total of five successful Ink Charges! Press the Ink Button to move the carriage to the reset position. If it stops at an ink label, press the Ink Button again until it moves to reset. Push the plastic breathers back into the Cleaning Cartridges. Close the carriage cover. Rock the carriage back and forth until it unlocks and push it to the center of the printer. Clean the capping station pad and gears with a dry swab to mop up any extra fluid. Press the Ink Button to move the carriage back over the capping station guides.equipmentzone.com Page 7 of 8

How to Flush Your Veloci-T Direct-To-Garment Printer Step 8 Turn the printer off at the breaker. Make sure the waste bottle is empty. Make sure the plastic breathers are in the Cleaning Cartridges. If you've completed five Ink Charges successfully, your print head and capping station should be flushed, preparing the machine for shipping or storage. his document was last generated on AM 2012 guides.equipmentzone.com Page 8 of 8

Maintaining Your Veloci-T Printer Step 1 Maintaining Your Veloci-T Printer The Veloci-T is a printer that likes to be printed. The more you print, the better. You should print at least 4 days a week. Even just printing one or two shirts helps to keep ink moving. This is a great opportunity to print sample shirts. Make a design that showcases the colorful, photographic detail the printer is capable of. Use this design to pitch your services to new businesses. If you know that you're not going to be printing for more than three days in a row, flush the ink from your printer using the included cleaning cartridges guides.equipmentzone.com Page 2 of 9

Maintaining Your Veloci-T Printer Step 2 Besides printing on a regular basis, it's also important to keep your printer in the right environment. Keep the printer in a clean, dustfree environment. Don't let fans or air conditioning vents blow directly on the printer. The printer should be kept in an area with a temperature around 72 F. The temperature shouldn't go below 65 or above 80. The humidity should be kept between 40% and 80%, with 50% humidity as a general guideline. Buy a humidity gauge from a home center to monitor the humidity levels. These usually have thermometers built in. They are very inexpensive guides.equipmentzone.com Page 3 of 9

Maintaining Your Veloci-T Printer Step 3 Perform the maintenance at the end of every print day. There is no need to perform maintenance on days that you don't print. But, if you're not printing for more than 3 days in a row, you need to flush the printer with cleaning solution. The goal of these steps is to clean off ink that naturally accumulates on some printer parts during printing. Step 4 Next, make sure the printer is turned on. Also make sure that the shirt holder is removed from the inside of the printer guides.equipmentzone.com Page 4 of 9

Maintaining Your Veloci-T Printer Step 5 Press the Ink button on the white control panel once. The print head will move to the left side of the printer, then return to the right side. Step 6 Then, push the print head to the middle of the printer by hand. The print head should be easy to push to the middle. You should have to use very little effort guides.equipmentzone.com Page 5 of 9

Maintaining Your Veloci-T Printer Step 7 Now that the print head is pushed to the middle, take a look at the area on the right side of the printer with the small foam pads. This area is called the capping station. We're going to be cleaning part of the capping station and the wiper blade. Step 8 Take one of the foam swabs that was included with the printer and wet it with cleaning solution. You don't want the swab to be soaking wet, so you might want to wring it out a little guides.equipmentzone.com Page 6 of 9

Maintaining Your Veloci-T Printer Step 9 Use the swab to clean the black rubber gasket that surrounds the capping station sponge. The sponge itself does not need to be cleaned. You don't have to go crazy cleaning these parts -- just clean most of the ink off. It isn't necessary to spend heaps of time making sure it's perfectly clean. Never use a cotton swab to clean these parts. Step 10 Now clean the ramp to the right of the print head. Use a dry swab. The print head is the flat, shiny surface surrounded by silver metal. Never touch or attempt to clean the shiny part of the print head. You could damage the print head guides.equipmentzone.com Page 7 of 9

Maintaining Your Veloci-T Printer Step 11 Once you're done, take a dry swab and dry off the wiper blade and capping station gasket. The cleaning process should only take a few minutes. Step 12 Press the Ink button on the white control panel once. Close the smoky gray cover at the top of the printer. The printer will do a short cleaning. Once the cleaning is done, turn the printer off using the orange power button at the back guides.equipmentzone.com Page 8 of 9

Maintaining Your Veloci-T Printer Step 13 Cover the printer with the blue dust cover. Now the printer can be left for up to 3 days without printing. Time to head home and think up ideas for new designs to print on your Veloci-T Direct-to- Garment Printer! his document was last generated on PM 2013 guides.equipmentzone.com Page 9 of 9
