7 Energy Saving Device Dual Relay and Data Identification Energy Saving Devices (ESD) are located inside the room to activate room lighting, power and air conditioning circuits after the guest enters their room, by inserting their guest card into the ESD. The two unique features about the ESD-950 are: 1) Data Identification enabled - only activated with an authorised KAS keycard. 2) Dual Relay feature allows the A/C system to be independently controlled by the following two actions: - The KAS keycard is inserted in the ESD - The room door and/or windows are closed (reed switches installed) Note: If the door and/or windows are ajar the A/C will switch off while not affecting the lights and power circuits. 8 Activation Card - Energy Saving Device Activate Data Identification The KAS Energy Saving Device can be activated for data identification. This means that only KAS room keys can activate the Energy Saving Device. This advanced feature will restrict users from being able to use the following cards: a) Regular Mifare cards b) Regular cards, foreign, plastic or business cards If this feature is requested an activation card will be included with the Energy Saving Devices. The card is placed inside the reader to activate data identification. It only has to be inserted once. After all the Energy Saving Devices have had Data Identification activated. The card will expire and can be discarded.
