2010 Accomplishments and Highlights The 24 th CEOS Plenary Rio de Janeiro, Brazil October,
1. WGISS Architecture and Data Contributions Project(WADC) Supporting CEOS to co-lead the GEO Task 09-01b, Data, Metadata and Products Harmonization Information model for satellite data providers Describe particular characteristics of satellite data and heritage systems for discovery, search and access Promote harmonization among CEOS agencies Explain complexities of satellite data to GEO community Identify how to access the different levels (L1, L2, L3+) of EO data
1. WGISS Architecture and Data Contributions Project(WADC) CEOS/WGISS Integrated Catalog (CWIC) The CEOS WGISS Integrated Catalog (CWIC) is a community catalog for the CEOS satellite data providers tailored to the specific characteristics of satellite data collections and the local catalogs. Single point of search & access to satellite data Utilize OGC and ISO standards to facilitate cross-agency, crossinformation system data discovery and direct data access. Hopefully become a common or standard set of interfaces for inventory search, results and granule-level data access Protocol translation from GEO supported catalog protocol to agency system native protocol Eventually to evolve to replace CWIC with member agencies employing the standard interface directly to allow direct access to their inventory and data systems

1. WGISS Architecture and Data Contributions Project(WADC) CEOS/WGISS Integrated Catalog (CWIC) Implementation Team including NOAA, NASA, USGS INPE,NRSCC will become CWIC data partners in the incoming years while GISTDA, ESA (HMA), and CCRS have shown their interest to join CWIC CWIC will be registered within the GCI and will use the GCI interface standards, even if the underlying data provider catalogs do not.
2. Atmospheric Composition Beta version release of the AC Portal Presentations and demo at ACC Workshops Planned video of the beta AC Portal for CEOS Plenary and GEO-VII Plenary The 24 th CEOS Plenary Rio de Janeiro, Brazil October,
3. International Directory Network (IDN) The IDN portals which includes the portal links on the IDN homepage and the portal listings hold links which connect to the new portals that were created are listed at Quality Assurance (QA) is maximized when metadata are managed from the IDN collection. Provides access to NASA's Earth Science metadata in ISO format or in Directory Interchange Format (DIF). Productive GCMD/IDN User Working Group Meeting. Working Group on Information Systems and Services
4. Land Surface Imaging The addition of Forest Carbon Tracking information and links, including links to the GEO Forest Carbon Tracking Portal. Using CWIC to provide users a map-based query and direct access to satellite data granules The near-term objective is to allow a user via the LSI Constellation Portal to perform a map-based query of available data from several LSI member information systems through the CWIC interface and request direct downloads of full acquisitions. The LSI Portal Project hopes to have a prototype ready for demonstration in December The new LSI Portal is accessible at: Working Group on Information Systems and Services
GRID Other Accomplishments (1) Several projects on using Grids in EO domain are in progress such as Rapid Flood Mapping (Namibian Pilot), Agriculture monitoring, etc Sensor Web Lessons Learnt on Sensor Web Enables Data Products Sensor Web Improves Science Operations and Sensor Web Enables Agency Collaboration
Web Service Other Accomplishments (2) Establish CWIC as a Web service interface for EO data discovery and access Global Data Sets Encourage and support the creation of global datasets through the cooperation of CEOS member. Working on Joint WGISS/WGCV Project to create DEM Showcase for the use of QA4EO EO contributions for Disaster Management Closely cooperating with UN-SPIDER
