Be careful and strike a good balance between Years of Useful Life and Cost Considerations Cost-Benefit Analysis Know when your Break-Even Point (In years) will be. Total Cost of Ownership Your one-time costs (CapEx) + ongoing O&M (OpEx) costs. Risk Mitigation At what point in the future does IT hardware become more of a liability than an asset? Keep in mind that moving hardware to a nonmission critical location still creates value. 8
