6 Scope of Responsibility Engineering support to all wing programs Systems Engineering Provide technical and engineering expertise to all systems in the wing (130+ systems) Capabilities Integration Environment (CIE) Integrated environment which is used for systems development (47 systems in development; 35 deployed worldwide) Includes Performance and Functional Testing capabilities Enterprise, Software and Data Architecture Certification and Accreditation (C&A)/Security Information Assurance systems security packages needed prior to a system is deployed to a network Processes and Policy Documented processes (checklists, templates, policies, etc)

7 Lessons Learned Developing in the CIE streamlines deploying to a Production environment (even if not going to GCSS- AF framework) Best to maintain an enterprise approach to engineering, architecture and security Need for strict adherence to systems engineering processes (pay now or pay later)

8 Future Needs/Trends Enterprise Integration between the legacy systems and ERPs & amongst the ERPs Integration Testing (replication of the end-to-end network ) Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) 8
