3 Brief 38 th CEIG History Est. 1958, primarily communications engineering and installation (E&I) organization The organization possessed organic engineering and installation resources that supported its worldwide engineering and installation mission In 2000, the organization shifted its mission from organic E&I services to planning and executing E&I contract services In 2009, the 38 CEIG was realigned under the 24 th Air Force and now supports worldwide air, space, and cyberspace operations 3
