A joint venture between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), one of the world s major oil and gas companies, and Austria based Borealis, a leading provider of chemical and innovative plastics solutions; Borouge is a groundbreaking international partnership at the forefront of the next generation of plastics innovation. With its base in the United Arab Emirates and Marketing & Sales head office in Singapore, Borouge employs more than 3,000 people representing over 40 nationalities and serves customers in 50 countries across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Building on the unique Borstar and Borlink technologies and over 50 years of experience in polyolefins, Borouge provides innovative, sustainable and value creating plastics solutions for packaging, infrastructure, energy, mobility, agriculture and healthcare applications that address global challenges such as climate change, food protection, access to fresh water, energy conservation, healthcare and waste management. In 2010 Borouge tripled the annual production capacity of its plant in Abu Dhabi to 2 million tonnes, and in 2014 Borouge started-up its Borouge 3 expansion plant increasing the Company s annual capacity to 4.5 million tonnes of polyethylene and polypropylene. Borouge has expanded its commercial and logistics network in the Middle East and Asia, established a new Innovation Centre in Abu Dhabi and expanded its Application Centre in Shanghai. 4 OUR SOLUTIONS The unique Borstar process and catalyst technology enables Borouge to provide a differentiated range of polyethylene and polypropylene innovative plastics solutions for energy, infrastructure, mobility, packaging, healthcare and agriculture applications. Energy Borouge is the leading supplier to the wire and cable industry providing solutions insulation, semi-conductive and jacketing layers. Borouge has solutions for low, medium and high voltage energy transmission and distribution cables, data and communication cables, building and automotive wires. Infrastructure Borouge pipe grades are used in water and gas distribution, waste and sewerage disposal, chemical and industrial projects, domestic plumbing and heating and cooling systems, as well as oil and gas exploration and transportation. Setting standards in the industry, Borouge s solutions add value through improved processing characteristics, lower maintenance, lower installation costs, longer product lifetimes, increased safety and no leakages. Mobility With a proven track record in developing innovative plastics solutions for the automotive market, and several international certifications, Borouge is a leading provider of innovative solutions to this rapidly expanding market. Innovative automotive solutions include materials for exterior, interior and under the bonnet applications such as bumpers, body panels, trims, dashboard, door cladding, air intake manifolds, and battery cases. Packaging Borouge provides a range of innovative plastics solutions utilising proprietary technologies for a variety of highperformance flexible and rigid packaging applications. Flexible packaging solutions include lamination, high-strength packaging, exclusive carrier bags, frozen and snack food packaging, and shrink films. Solutions for rigid plastic applications focus on thin wall packaging, houseware, industrial packaging, and caps and closures. Healthcare Borouge provides specialised solutions for medical devices and pharmaceutical and diagnostic packaging, offering a high level of reliability, consistency and conformance with industry standards, safeguarding the life of the patient.
