12 Construction & Material Science Services offered by the CTL Construction Materials Building Products and Electrical Services Overview Construction & Material Science Scope With a location in Abu Dhabi and two mobile laboratories servicing the Emirate, the CTL Construction & Material test services offers material characterization, testing, failure analysis, problem solving and consulting. Service Area Construction Materials Industrial Products Test Areas Description Covers the test of raw materials and products such as Cement, Bitumen, rebar, soil, aggregates, concrete, structural steel, and geofabrics/grids/membranes General Materials test and characterization services such as alloy composition, mechanical strength, micro-structure analysis, plating thicknesses, etc. Chemistry: Cement Chemical Analysis, Polymer Identification, Alloy Identification, Water analysis, Soil content, EDAX, FTIR, Titration, etc. Mechanical: Stress/Strain analysis, Tensile/Compression tests, Hardness tests, etc. Physical: Grading of soils, Conductivity/resistivity, petrographic analysis, abrasion, color grading, viscosity, dimensional analysis, etc. Thermal: R-value, conductivity, resistance, cycling Microscopy: Micro-analysis, imaging, inclusions, grain size/structure, petrographic analysis, surface crack detection, failure modes 12

13 Construction Materials Mobile Lab Pilot Project - Sep 2015 World-class facility will support QCC s mission to improve quality and ensure the applicability and durability of construction materials under the emirate s severe weather conditions Envisioned to complement Construction Lab Equipped with S-O-A Testing Equipment The pilot phase will cater to municipal and government projects, especially in Al Ain and Western Region First-of-its-kind vehicular mobile lab in Abu Dhabi Service remote areas in the emirate of Abu Dhabi Designed to be Crewed by 2 Technicians Comprising two units Concrete, Cement and Soil aggregates. Testing asphalt, steel and metal Ensure Compliance of materials with health, safety, environment and firefighting standards as well as validate materials durability and performance under extreme temperature, humidity, and pressure 13
