1 DIT DSO Defence & Security Symposium 2017 The Department of International Trade s Defence & Security Organisation Symposium takes place in Central London on Tuesday 25 April This flyer encourages you to note the date in your diary and provides details on how to register your interest in attending. The objective of the Symposium is to provide UK companies with Government-sourced advice, information and support aimed at maximising opportunities for securing overseas defence and security business. The Government is urging businesses to make 2017 the year of exporting as it encourages them to seek new markets and seize the demand for British goods and services. This year s Symposium will focus closely on the collaborative work undertaken by Government and industry on the Defence Cyber Growth Partnerships. There will be a strong emphasis on value and benefit these partnerships bring to defence and cyber companies large, medium and small.. We would like to take this opportunity to explain how we are delivering this, what it means for UK companies large, medium and small and how you can get involved. The UK Defence Solutions Centre (UKDSC) is closely associated with the DGP. We can help you understand how you can get involved in their Communities of Interest. The Cyber Growth Partnership (CGP) provides oversight and strategic guidance to the Government on development of the UK Cyber Security ecosystem. It helps to ensure that Government-led initiatives are progressed alongside the UK Cyber Security industry and provides guidance on exports. CGP s three strategic objectives are to increase export market

Please note that numbers are limited and places will be confirmed upon payment on a strict first come, first served basis. Successful applications will be acknowledged and full Joining Instructions will be ed shortly before the event. Please also forward a short (few lines only) summary of your business and its defence & security product and/or service-related capabilities. You are also invited to let us know which of the activities listed in the left-hand column are of particular interest to you and what other aspects of defence & security exporting you would like to see at the Symposium. We will aim to include as many of the more popular suggestions as possible in the final agenda.
