4 and requirements Additional metadata are required: IAC author position Used resources (telescope, instrument, etc.) IAC project ID Grant etc. and more systematic metrics too We need to develop our own system to store data obtained through bibliographic services, add IAC data (internal data) and process them to get various metrics.

7 Update and maintenance Content is updated by Research Secretariat using the Administration Menu Each week, a query by affiliation in ADS find new IAC articles Each record is revised and completed with IAC data before being added to the database Importing from Classic ADS is done requesting articles lists in XML format Citations history is updated every two months using automatic tools Information related to resources used and research projects is updated once a year by the researchers through the IAC Projects application Researchers names and new resources are updated when required.

9 Development Application requirements Multi-user and platform independent Must have easy to use importing and maintenance tools Easy implementation of new features, if required. Must be flexible enough to interact with other existing and future tools What we used We developed a web based application using PHP (CakePHP framework; other CMS as Joomla or Drupal were considered ) MySQL database, but CakePHP have an abstraction database layer, so several DB could be chosen. Python for scripting tools to use outside the application. Runs on a single Apache server on a Linux machine => Everything open source

19 Conclusions and future improvements We have a flexible online tool to maintain our bibliography IAC data added to records allow us to generate needed statistical reports automatically More specific reports and metrics can be obtained if requested For the future Unique identifiers for researchers names would be a must Create an API for external requests Next project: The IAC Telescopes Bibliography Special thanks to ADS for their work and make things easy to us.
