Engineering drawings, product information, s, shop papers, invoices and business-management documents are stored and managed in a revision-proof manner. With speedy you efficiently manage all kinds of construction information in your company. speedy creates the significant advance in product development through the project oriented and contextbased networking of information. speedy has been developed for the application in the technical construction, the user surface sticks to Windows standards in matters of appearance and handling, thus long skill adaption trainings can be omitted. 3 Flexible and future-oriented speedy is a modular data-management solution for administration, distribution and archival storage of all product information in the company. Through the object oriented design it is possible for speedy to adapt perfectly to the corporate structure and processes. 6 Higher productivity through reutilization With the help of a broad search mechanism and classification of document and product information it is possible to find the same or similar data files very fast. The quick file preview saves waiting time. Simple search Through the quick- and direct-search, comparable to the Windows Desktopsearch or Google, you can easily find desired products without using complex search mask entries. 4

7 Search favorites Frequently needed search requests can be saved as search favorites. In addition, you can differentiate between personal search favorites and companywide search favorites. Administrative, search favorites can be allowed, that cannot be changed by the users. Every user can create personal search favorites. Integrated quick file preview A quick file review is integrated in all selection dialogs and article lists. speedy has the ability to display a quick preview of all current file formats (over 200 file formats). Furthermore, every document can be viewed in the provided or in a native viewer. Previews can be easily displayed in a larger view by clicking the middle mouse button. 5

8 The article is in the main focus With speedy the article or the product is in focus no matter how many files are necessary to describe the article. For instance, the description of a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor needs an assembly group file and several part files. In speedy all of those files are managed under the article cylinder. Additional information about the supplier or instruction manuals can be added as well. 6

9 Multilingualism For international companies the project documentation in the customer s language has always been an exasperating topic. speedy reduces the expenditure to a minimum by automatically providing all the language relevant information during the development of an article. The multilingualism in the article data makes it possible to easily create for example object lists or spare part lists for the product documentation. Headings of drawings are printed in a different language on demand. Even drawing frames can be changed automatically for the display. Suitable definitions for naming the articles are quickly found with the aid of the language dictionary. 7

10 Free structuring The deposition structure of the documents can be freely defined. In this connection, a virtual structure can be defined (only available in the data base) or a real directory structure can be developed and mapped on the server. Furthermore, both kinds can be combined. Thus a real directory structure can be supplemented with additional virtual search folders. Automatic cataloging speedy has the ability to dynamically and automatically develop catalog structures on the basis of existing database entries. Criteria of archived documents are used as filter criteria for the development of the catalog structure. Version- and revision management Information connected to changes and thus with the change history is fully displayed in speedy. The versioning and revision are fully supported in the scope of CAD-construction. The constructing engineer concentrates on the content, whereas speedy takes over the controlling of file names, safe deposition and reference between models of different versions. 8

11 Number generator Speedy already offers in its standard simple mechanisms for the automatical development of document, article and code numbers. You can define per document type how new document numbers should be composed. In addition, the customer-specific customization offers numerous possibilities for the number generation (for example getting the article number of purchased items from the inventory control) User and group rights through integrated rights management speedy has its own user and group management. Rights of action are assigned to user groups. In addition, speedy features an object oriented management of rights, that allows to reject actions on individual documents or storage folders. Rights and restrictions assigned by the operating system are of course taken into account. Plot and output management Automate the output of time-consuming activities such as project documentation, printing of drawings or object list output. 9

12 Proof of application of parts The proof of application of parts shows you where the articles are used or applied. 10 Data exchange For the data exchange several different standard data formats are available (for example Access, Excel, CSV, XML, SQL, ). speedy can export or import document data and object lists in a process-controlled way. Thus the bidirectional data exchange with current PPS- or ERPsystems is possible at any time. 13 11 speedy2go speedy2go enables you to select projects, that you would like to take with you for working at home or to your customer. You can make alterations on the way, create new files and versions or deposit new documents in speedy2go. As soon as you return, speedy2go synchronizes the projects, files and documents with your speedy database.

14 Advanced through networking With speedy it is possible to connect different locations and integrate external personnel and suppliers into the value-added chain. Teamwork With speedy collective working of several constructing engineers on one project is possible without any comparison effort. Every team member is notified about modifications, that can be directly aligned if desired. With speedy you edit your documents and assembly groups directly on the server. You always keep up to date. Whilst modifying assembly groups only the for the modification needed parts and sub-assembly groups are blocked. 12

15 SolidWorks / Inventor By means of the unique integration of the Rollup-window in the application surface of SolidWorks and Inventor, all speedy commands and information are available at any time without having to search them. Parts are simply positioned in the assembly group by Drag & Drop from the Rollup-window. Corresponding attachment parts are directly available as well. Object lists are already developed and updated during the modeling process. 13

16 Building block- / complete assembly In order to install frequently used purchase part combinations speedy offers management of complete assembly groups. These are normal CAD assembly groups, that include several parts in a typical assembly. While inserting, those complete assembly groups are automatically separated in order to avoid disruptive assembly group planes in the object list. 17 Variation management (currently only SolidWorks) With speedy SolidWorks-configurations are not only managed but also interpreted as articles. Speedy enables developing and managing of (steuernden) assembly groups. Dependent variables are defined in a simple tabular form in the (steuernde) assembly group, which then develop corresponding component part variations that result in a new variation assembly group. 18 Object lists Speedy already adjusts the object lists during the construction with the CAD-system. Position numbers are adjusted bidirectional. Position numbers are controlled by speedy and not by the (Featuremanager). Thus own sorting criteria can be applied (for example purchased items first). All the other object lists are derived from the building block object list: Bill of quantities Child component list Structural object list Multi-level bill of material Replacement- and consumable-part list Part to be serviced list, maintenance plan Purchased part list The cutting list of SolidWorks or the parts list of the frame generator of Inventor are also adopted in the object list management of speedy. The list printing is carried out through customizable print templates. 16

19 Database Speedy works best with MySQL as data base. Furthermore Access, Microsoft SQL-servers and Oracle are supported as well. Licensing Speedy is protected by a licensing system. In larger networks license management is carried out by a license server. The licensing procedure is a Concurrent-User-License model, only registered work stations are consuming a license. 17
