imos / imos Manager 4 1 imos 1.1 imos Manager Edge angle In the profile properties of the imos Manager the value of the edge angle is output now. In this connection the method modify edge angle has also been adjusted to the imos angle functions. Up to imos 11 it was necessary to define the rotation axis (top/bottom) when modifying an angle. From imos 11 only the size of the angle (positive or negative value) must be defined.

imos / imos Manager Modify In imos 11.0 the modifications made on an article are automatically recorded now. These can be subsequently edited, deleted or transferred to an order level. If modifications have been made, then these can be called via the button article related modifications after the article on the article level in the imos Manager has been selected Dialog description After calling the function, the opposite dialog appears. All made modifiers are listed in the list. These can be individually selected. If the modifier is marked in front with an article, then only the modifications for the current article in the current order are saved. This means by reinserting an article in the order, the modifier is not inserted.

imos / imos Manager 6 Following functions are available: Button Description Explanation Delete The selected Modifier is deleted. After selecting the function, the query appears: Do all modifiers have to be deleted from the selected modifier? This means, for example, if the second entry is selected in the list, then all following modifiers are deleted. Save globally Save order related The modifier is marked with a globus so that the made modifications are always applied to the article no matter in which order. The modifier is marked with a folder so that the made modifications on all articles of this type are applied in this order Undo Modifier Up to now modifications on an article with the same named function could be undone. From imos 11.0 modifications can be undone by selecting the article on the article level in the imos Manager and then the function article related modifications is called so that the described dialog in chapter appears and the respective modifiers can be deleted.

imos / imos Manager Delete global saved modifier again For deleting the global recorded modifier on an article without specially reinserting this article in an order again, there is the possibility to call the function article related modifications via the context menu in the Article center. From there you return to the same named dialog and the modifier can be deleted again.

imos / imos Manager Filter The Filter dialog in the imos Manager has been redesigned for imos Each function is described as follows New Types The following types (names) can be additionally filtered: Stretchable purchased parts Drilling hole Groove Lineboring Machining group Rectangular pockets Circular pockets Lock pocket Cut faceplates Inner contour

imos / imos Manager Saving filter principles It is now possible to save filter principles for the different types. In order to do this, which type (e.g. article, pull or purchased part) has to be selected first to define the filter criteria. Accordingly, the available existing properties change. Then relevant values can be entered or selected for these properties. If these settings are useful to apply again, a name must be entered in filter principle and then save it. If the relevant type is selected in the filter dialog, then the desired one can be selected from the list of the filter principles The use of greater and less symbol for filtering a value It is also possible to filter values with the support of greater and less symbol (<>). For example, should pulls lighter than 0,2 kg be filtered out, then this can be defined with the term <0.2.

imos / imos Manager Weight as criteria The weight has been added to different types as a further filter criteria Filter according to MPE parts/ single parts It is possible to filter for MPE parts in the type part. Yes or No can be selected as a value next to MPE parts Filter according to edge angles It is possible to filter for edge angles. Greater and less symbols can also be used here as described in chapter Filter according to profile machining In addition to edge angles, profile machining can be filtered with edges. The applied machining types of the order can be selected via the pulldown menu Filter according to variables It is possible to define in the filter criteria if a variable has to be filtered or a variable with a certain value.

imos / imos Manager A precondition restricts further selection If a value is defined with a property, then this condition limits further selection possibilities. Example: In an order the opposite coating top is available and can be selected as a criteria. For instance, if the side panel is selected with part types, then this restricts/limits coatings for selecting and only the coatings are listed applied for side panels in the order.

imos / imos Manager Apply filter to For defining, if the selected filter should be applied to the complete order or only to the current selection, then take the pulldown menu in the bottom part of the dialog from imos Result Result fulfils the filter criteria If the option fulfil with filter criteria is activated, all elements, which fulfil the filter criteria, are selected. By default the checkmark is therefore not set here. This means the option is activated. If this option is deactivated, the parts are selected which do not fulfil the selected criteria.

imos / imos Manager 13 Attach result to the current selection If this function is activated, it is possible to add a second selection to an existing selection. The second selection can be made without referring to the first selection. The following example explains the procedure. With the first filter all parts of the type drawer front panel from the first order have been filtered out to receive the list in the Manager as shown opposite. With the second filter all connectors are filtered with the name I_drawer_system_086_500_0163. Then the checkmark is set on attach to the current selection next to the results. Thereby, the list opposite appears in the Manager. Adding elements can be optionally continued!

imos / imos Manager Refresh C-Construction Now the function Refresh C-Construction has been implemented in the methods of the imos Manager to subsequently adjust modifications on C-Constructions. For example, when modifying the size of a cabinet, the connections of the attached C-Construction are adjusted and updated to the new situation. Now it is not necessary to assemble every cabinet individually. The function is available on part group level and article level if imos detects that it is a C-Construction here. (defined by the article)

imos / imos Manager Zoom to object From imos 11.0 onwards, it is now possible to zoom objects selected via the imos Manager. For example, this is helpful, if an element has been filtered out in a large order with a filter and it is not clear where the element is. In order to do this, the context menu has to be called for the element by right clicking and the function zoom to objects has to be selected there. Then the area is automatically zoomed to show where the element or selected elements are.

imos / imos Manager Loft Parts In imos hyperparaboloidal parts, so-called Loft Parts, can be created now. It is a part created with 2 bending lines which can be on different Z-levels. A loft part can either be created by picking two lines (polyline, splines etc.) or selecting two part edges.

imos / imos Manager 17 The function Loft Part can be called in the imos Manager, if either no element or an article is marked. The function is in the methods in the folder Free Construction. Additionally, the function can be called via the menu via the folder Part Designer \ Free Construction.

imos / imos Manager Free generation of Loft Parts After selecting the function, the request appears 1. Select edge curve for the Loft Part => Pick an existing line or edge After that the request appears 2. Select edge curve for the Loft Part => After selecting the second line or edge and confirming the selection, the loft part is generated. Then following settings can be made via the selection window on the left side: Setting Relative position Part type Part definition Part thickness Generate manufacturing data Maintain part thickness Explanation With the relative position you can define if the polyline runs centrically, left or right to the generated part. The type has an effect on the edge allocation as well as the position of the part on the machine. In the Combobox are the last applied part definitions. Via the button next to the entry the Element Manager appears where a definition can be selected as well. The parameter is automatically filled with the thickness of the selected part definition. The thickness can be modified manually. With this function you can define if the manufacturing data for the part has to be generated. If you select Yes here, the value is taken from the field part thickness. Defined in the part definition without reference to the thickness.

imos / imos Manager Generating a loft part in an article If a loft part is created when selecting an article, then it is possible to record this loft part as a modifier for the article. This means that if the modification of the article is globally recorded, this article can be optionally reproduced and can be modified in terms of dimensions as well. Consequently, the loft parts can be evaluated in the bills of material.

imos / imos Manager Generate model of the loft part A model of the loft part can be generated via Part dimension Quick. A display of the loft part in the 3D machining modus is not possible at the moment!

imos / Article Designer Article Designer Connector detachable through variable The definition to set a connector to the previous part or next part can be controlled via a variable now. If a connector to the previous or next has been defined in the Article Designer via the register connection situation, a context menu can be called with a right mouse-click in the value field afterwards.. If detachable through variable is selected there, the variable dialog opens automatically. Any variable of the type number can be selected in the variable dialog. The value of the variables must be either 0 or 1: 0 = Connection situation is not set 1 = Connection situation is set By ending the variable dialog via OK, the value field in the Article Designer is marked with a $- sign. By modifying the variable value, the setting of the connector can be switched on and off now.

imos / Article Designer Improved visualization of the drawers The display of the drawers in the Article Designer has been improved to display the interior box and front panel. imos 10.0SR2 imos 11.0

imos / Article Designer Modified front panel dialog settings are displayed If settings have been made in the front panel dialog of the Article Designer, then this is displayed in the Article Designer by marking the principal (drawer and doors) red.

imos / Article Designer Favourites for front panel dialog available In the front panel dialog favourites for the selection are available for the part definition and the manufacturing information now.

imos / 3D Drafting D Drafting 3D Drafting enables to stretch or move parts or complete articles as well. The section free construction in the register Part Designer has to be called Span Drafting Box After calling, the request appears to span the Drafting Box. This box defines the selection of the parts which have to be stretched or moved. After selecting 4 points, the parts in the box are marked. If the Drafting Box has to be modified in its dimension and position later, then this must be marked with the mouse.

imos / 3D Drafting 26 Then the box receives 2 Boxgrips (1) to be able to modify the dimension. By clicking one of the grips, the dimension can be modified and if useful the elements in the selection are modified as well. 1 1

imos / 3D Drafting Stretching & moving the construction Then the construction can be stretched via the so-called Lollipops (2). In doing so, the parts are displayed in different colours depending on if they are complete or only partial in the selection. Colour Selection Procedure Magenta Part is complete in the selection Part is moved completely Blue Part is partial in the selection Part is stretched Orange Article is complete in the selection The complete article is moved 2 By pulling on one of the lollipops, the construction is accordingly adjusted.

imos / 3D Drafting Example The kitchen illustrated below has to be attached to the wall. In order to do this, a selection box is spanned over the complete outer article (orange) as well as parts of the cabinet next to it. Afterwards the right lollipop (3) is marked with the mouse and then the edge of the wall (4). If the offset point is defined, leave the dialog on the left via the OK Button. For defining the offset value, a value can be entered.

imos / 3D Drafting 29 Afterwards the following picture of the design appears: The outer article has been completely moved to the wall and the article in the middle has been stretched so far that it fills the remaining space. At the same time a connector scan has been executed and the connectors accordingly adjusted.

imos / Output Output Associative dimension Precondition The AutoCAD Systemvariable DIMASSOC must be set on = 2. It is important to save this setting in the drawing template (imos.dwt) General Associative dimension is when the link between geometry and dimension is not only used once (particularly when reading out the measured value from the database by generating the dimension the first time), but remains permanently. The associative dimension is the precondition for automatically adjusting the dimension with subsequent geometry modifications. This means that after an article has been measured and modified in its size, the dimension is automatically adjusted. For example, if a floor plan dimension has been made, then the dimension is marked as an associative dimension in the imos Manager.

imos / Output 31 Please note that only the contours are associated here in imos so that only modifications of the outer dimension can be automatically updated Cuts It is possible to dimension cuts associatively as well. Up to now the lines in the background (edges behind the cut level) could not be identified when cutting in imos. This has been integrated for the associative dimension so that it is also automatically selected in the imos Manager when marking a line in the background of the drawing,

imos / Output Cuts Performance For optimizing the performance when placing cuts all elements in front of the cut and therefore not visible, are removed from the cut now. In previous versions the nonvisible elements were only hidden but were still in the drawing. That could have an effect on the performance with large orders Create cut If a new cut is created, a dialog for applying a complete article or only single parts in the cut can be defined via the object selection in the imos cut options (see illustration on the left). Further options can be activated via modify settings. These options have been extended with the following settings: Hatching Background lines Hidden lines 2D Symbols By setting and removing the checkmark, the relevant symbols and lines can be shown or hidden in the cut. Architectural elements such as walls can be defined for a cut as well (see chapter Architectural elements)

imos / Output Display 2D Symbols Additionally, 2D Symbols can be displayed in the cut drawing now. The 2D Symbols are customized configurable. For example, by displaying 2D symbols, it is possible to identify if the front panels belong to doors or drawers or the applied material can be shown symbolically. door flap drawer

imos / Output Display of different variants of the cut display In the following illustrations different variants of cut displays are displayed to make the differences clear! For displaying the surfaces and their name, it is necessary to activate the hatch..

imos / Output 35 For displaying the materials and their name, it is necessary to activate the hatch.

imos / Output 36

imos / Output Architectural elements Architectural elements such as walls, windows and doors are considered when creating cuts and hatching can be allocated to these elements as well now. The hatching for the walls can be defined via the imoswall.pat. These are in the <Library\Pats> directory. Please, note that the corresponding wall is also marked when selecting the elements for the cut.

imos / Output Update cut The dialog described in chapter Create cut appears in Update cut as well. After calling the function, the dialog appears with the current settings of the selected cut. Either symbols or names can be removed or added by (de)activating. Additionally, it is also possible to add complete articles or single parts to a cut or to remove them. By adding an article, select article in the object selection and then click on the sign plus and afterwards select the desired article in the drawing. If, a part has to be removed from the cut again, for example, select part in the object selection and then minus and the corresponding part in the drawing.

Organizer / Introduction 39 2 Organizer 2.1 Introduction The organizer has been completely revised and its structure fundamentally altered. Now the technical operative part of the order process is emphasized so that the different production processes from purchasing, production up to the delivery can be defined. The advantage of the new imos Organizer is that the entire order handling process can be displayed in one interface.

Organizer / Starting the imos Organizer Starting the imos Organizer When starting the imos Organizer, a login dialog appears. The default values for name, password and server are controlled via the settings of the imos.ini. The last applied database is automatically listed under database. The database can be changed via the Dropdown Box. Click on connect to start the organizer with the selected database.

Organizer / Interface Interface Structure The new imos Organizer is divided in 3 sections: The toolbar (blue) is in the top section. The order tree (green) is on the left side. The properties to the respectively selected element (pink) are displayed in the main window.

Organizer / Interface Project-/ Order structure The orders are displayed in a structure tree. Thereby, it is possible to create new projects and orders and subprojects can be created as well. The orders in turn can be allocated to projects. Projects serve the purpose for the folder structure. If a new project or order is created in the imos Organizer, this project/this order is in turn displayed in imos as well and vice versa. Organizer imos

Organizer / Interface Menu The register collection contains following groups and commands: View Function Refresh view Explanation The information is read anew from the imos database and the order tree is updated. The costs of the article are calculated from the stored material costs of the inserted parts in the article as well as the production overhead costs and external production overhead costs.

Organizer / Calculation Calculation Surcharge calculation The surcharge calculation is displayed via the register positions. The register positions can be activated by marking an order with a double click on the register content. Details to this are in chapter Register Position. The following diagram illustrates clearly how the surcharge calculation is put together:

Organizer / Calculation Mass determination The mass determination is equivalent to the calculation material and time in the old Organizer version. By changing to the register, the calculation is directly performed. The calculation is displayed in a report. This report is divided into 2 sections: Material consumption Expenditure of time

Organizer / Calculation 65 With the mass determination the pure material costs and the expenditure of time are added together to one price. This calculation type does not depend on the calculation principles Material consumption The material consumption consists of following components: Material (Price/m² x Area) Surfaces (Price/m² x Area) Profile (Price/m x Length) Connectors(Price/Item x Number) SPP(Price/m x Length) Colour principles (Price/m² x Area) Expenditure of time The expenditure of time is calculated from the costs of the cost center and the time of the work steps.

Organizer / / Output Output Lists can be output via the function output in the menu. 2 If one or several lists have to be output, then they must be checkmarked in the list (1). Afterwards the generation starts via display preview (2). The lists are output as reports. 1 List types Offer AV-Article overview Explanation For creating an offer for an order or project, a customer, a payment as well as a delivery term must be allocated to it.
