3 1 Introduction Set out below is a summary of the enhancements and bug fixes in this and other recent releases of the Excel4apps Wands for Oracle. 2 Version General Excel 2013 issue Corrected a problem when using Excel4apps Wands with Excel 2013 when launching the application while there is no active workbook. The Get Balance SQL has been further modified to bind as many of the Get Balance SQL parameters as possible that were not Binding included in the initial changes with version 5.5. Latest Version Notification Session Timeout running large reports Shared Templates Drive Support and License Key request logged directly from product The application now detects when there is a new version available and prompts with the details during the launch. An Oracle profile option, ICX: Limit Connect, can cause the Excel4apps reports to have an Oracle session timeout when they are in fact still active and running. This issue has been resolved by ensuring that the Oracle session remains active if a report is still being calculated. A central repository for Excel4apps templates has been added to the product. This allows you to share GL Wand reports, RDM and Scheduler templates as well as Reports Wand reports. Custom drilldown templates can also be shared with other users via the Shared Templates Drive. The process to request a license key or log a support case has been changed so that the request is made directly from the product. All the required information is transmitted automatically including the log file when required. License keys are automatically downloaded from our system and entered into the product (assuming the requester's details are registered on our system). Improved performance and fewer hard parses by the database. Customers will be more aware of new versions that are available and plan to upgrade more frequently to benefit from the new features and improvements in the new releases. Avoid incorrect Oracle session timeout when a report is refreshing. Allows easy sharing of all Excel4apps template files. Simpler process to request keys and to log a support case. Support for this has been added. The process to drill down on a summary Get Balance formula was not working. This has been corrected. Some of the list of values items on the drill criteria sheet are dependent on selections that the user has already made. These dependencies had not been catered for up to now but have now been implemented. For example when selecting the list of periods, a date selector or period selector will be presented dependent on the selected balance type. The budget or encumbrance values are also dependent on the selected actual flag. In certain cases the default save file format set in Excel could cause problems when saving a drilldown template. This has been corrected. The drill criteria sheet defaults the segment values to a wild card for those segments that don't have a default stored in Oracle. In certain cases an error can occur when drilling down using a custom drilldown template where the special drilldown to next level columns have been removed. This has been corrected. A new drilldown feature is available which allows you to query journals based on various journal fields like journal name, batch etc. The query populates the standard journal drilldown report and allows further drill to full journal or subledger. The option to show segment criteria errors was not taken into account for the Segment_DFF function. This has been corrected. In certain cases the Segment_End_Date function could end in an error. This has been corrected. This option has been added back to due to popular demand. Custom to date balances can now be calculated across financial years. The list of values selection process provides a better user experience as the dependencies are taken into account. Makes the process of capturing segment values easier especially for those customers that have many segments in the chart of accounts. Query journals based on various journal fields rather than having to start with an account balance. Page 4 of 6

5 Sub Totals are removed and re-created during the drilldown population process. Sub totals in Drilldown However the process was removing sub reports totals outside the drilldown report range as well. This has been corrected. 2.3 Budget Wand Budget Wand function in snapshot Budget Wand Load issues An option has been added to retain the Budget Wand Load Budget functions when creating a snapshot. In certain cases the budge loading process would fail with an "Interrupted" message if the workbook takes too long to process. The handling of this scenario has been improved. Additionally an issue was corrected regarding the decimal point character in use on the PC in different languages. The Budget Wand functions remain active in a snapshot which allows the workbook to be used to load budgets later if required. 2.4 Reports Distribution Manager (RDM) Corrected a problem that could occur RDM Calculation under certain circumstances that would Process cause an RDM initiated calculation to never complete. RDM Scheduler Excel 2013 Under certain conditions the RDM Desktop Scheduler would encounter an error when executed with Excel This has been corrected. 2.5 Reports Wand Clean Drilldown worksheet Errors populating Excel reports A new feature has been added to allow you to clear all the data from a drilldown workbook. The data in a drilldown workbook must be cleared in a very specific way to ensure that the formatting and formulas are retained. Certain data that can exist in Oracle can cause a problem when being populated into Excel. These include text values that Excel thinks are formulas, numbers with more than 28 decimal places and dates A simple process to correctly clear the data from a drilldown template. Allows you to send a clean template to another user or upload it to the Shared Templates drive without it containing any potentially sensitive information. Page 5 of 6

6 that Excel cannot interpret. The application now handles these situations more elegantly. Reports Wand Concurrent Programs in Oracle Reports Wand Filters Reports Wand List of Values for Value Set Reports Wand Maintain Drill Templates Reports Wand query record limit Reports Wand SQL comments Reports Wand columns special characters Reports Wand definitions are stored as concurrent programs in Oracle but are not executable from the Oracle concurrent programs submit window. The configuration of the Excel4apps Concurrent Programs has been modified so that they do not appear in Oracle's submit concurrent program window. Corrected an issue that could occur if a filter value contains an apostrophe character. The list of values for values sets now uses the new dropdown list that other Excel4apps Wands screens use which can be sorted and searched. With the addition of the new Shared Templates Drive, you can now create, edit and delete Reports Wand drilldown templates just like you can for GL Wand templates. An option has been added to control the number of records that can be queried with a Reports Wand report. Certain special characters in SQL comments could cause problems when the SQL in entered into the report definition Excel workbook and in some cases caused issues identifying the bind variables. This has been corrected. Certain special characters included in a Reports Wand column were causing errors in certain circumstances. This has been corrected. Avoids confusion that Reports Wand reports can be submitted from the Oracle concurrent programs submit window. Easier to search for value sets. Flexible drilldown template functionality now extended to Reports Wand Better control over running of large Reports Wand reports. Page 6 of 6
