3 1 Introduction Set out below is a summary of the enhancements and bug fixes in this and other recent releases of the Excel4apps Wands for Oracle. 2 Version GL Wand User Permissions Eliminated an unnecessary SQL call which could slow the process down. 2.2 Reports Distribution Manager (RDM) Drillable Output Corrected a problem which left the results uncalculated when using the drillable output option in conjunction with combining multiple output reports into a single Excel workbook. 2.3 Reports Wand Filter List of Values Corrected a problem with the list of values drop down on the filter stage of the wizard. These dropdown lists were not painting correctly in some situations. 3 Version GL Wand Sub Ledger Drilldown When using the option to add dummy lines to the sub ledger drilldown an error could occur reporting and invalid date or an out of bounds exception. This error has been corrected. 3.2 Reports Wand Reports Wand range Corrected a problem when using the range filter character in a Reports Wand filter. Cell Formatting A problem was found setting cell formatting when populating Reports Wand reports when the PC language was set to Turkish. This was corrected. Page 3 of 8

Application has been upgraded to make use of Microsoft.Net 4. Corrected a problem that could occur with an unusual configuration of the path component of the application server URL. Fixed a problem where the custom columns could appear multiple times in the drilldown layout editor. Modified the custom library path solution to cater for the situation where the application data folder is on a mapped drive. Fixed a problem with the drilldown reports where the description was not being correctly displayed for dependent values. Also modified the list of values for a dependent segment to show all values as GL Wand 4 does. If a user selected an entire Excel column and chose to discover segment properties rather than just the range of segment values the process could lock up under certain conditions. This has been corrected. Corrected a problem which could occur in a specific set of conditions resulting in the drilldown process not proceeding. Updated the Oracle R12 subledger (SLA) drilldown to support Channel Management. Corrected a problem where special Excel characters that are included in Journal name or descriptions caused an error. Corrected a problem that could occur when a drilldown report has an Excel filter Changing to support newer releases only allows better use to be made of the new features that are only available in the newer Microsoft products. However this tagging was left on the session. The module field is now cleared on the database session before it is returned to the pool. Depending on the connection details selected/entered the Installer will build a different JDBC connection string. Corrected a problem with the FSG import where a column was omitted under certain conditions. The process that validates the In Memory Database has been improved to run more efficiently on certain Oracle configurations. When you launch the Excel4apps Wands from the Oracle responsibility, Excel will be launched automatically if it is not already running. This process did not work correctly for 64 bit versions of Excel. The problem has been corrected. Your Excel4apps users can now be maintained via an import from an Excel spreadsheet. Corrected an issue where an out of memory condition (PermGen) could occur when calculating large reports. The Get Balance function now supports a comma separated list of book ids allowing multiple ledgers to be summarized in one function. For Oracle R12 there is also a Ledger Set function that returns the Ledger Ids that are included in a ledger set. The output of this function can be use in the Book parameter of the Get Balance to calculate balances for a Ledger Set. Drilldowns using multiple ledgers are also supported. For Ledgers that do not have the same currency, GL Wand will combine functional and translated balances as applicable. The wild card % character can also be used to include all ledgers that you are currently logged on to. Fixed an issue which could occur resulting in a responsibility that had been end dated still appearing in the list. In previous version of GL Wand if you entered an invalid segment value the function would return a blank or zero Avoids confusion about which database sessions are being used by Excel4apps applications. The drilldown was incorrectly reporting an error message. This has been corrected to now report an information message indicating that the Consolidation journals where excluded from the drilldown. The warning message regarding an unsafe exit having been performed was added specifically to point out to users that they must use the Exit button on the Excel4apps tab to quit the application otherwise they may lose their settings. This process requires exclusive use of the PC while it executes and therefore running it on a spare PC will be the most efficient approach. Support for additional SMTP security. Set up schedules to run RDM workbooks on a repeating schedule. You are now able to go directly to the wizard stage that you wish to edit rather than needing to first manually initiate SQL validation when editing an existing Report Definition. The bind variable and filter stage tables and lists of values are now easier to use and the lists can be sorted and Page 7 of 8

The filter criteria for a Reports Wand report now supports using ranges of values on character fields where it only used to support ranges for numeric fields. Reports Wand now supports including comments in the SQL statement using the normal SQL syntax. Added additional validation to the Reports Wand SQL statement to identify a situation where the SQL is longer than could fit into an Excel cell. Extended support for filtering character fields.
