With EFI Client Option's three-tier architecture, you can allocate specific access and management privileges to each client workstation, enhancing flexibility and building a customised configuration. The Administrator has complete control of the EFI Colorproof XF workflow, including setting up and configuring software, allocating access rights, managing calibration and profiling, viewing/adding jobs, printing/stopping/cancelling jobs, changing job priority, overwriting workflow settings with job settings, and so on. The User can view all the jobs in any workflow that he/she is part of, but can only manage the processing of his or her own jobs. The user cannot change any workflows, but needs to make settings on a per-job basis. The Job Monitor is the basic tool for working with the EFI Colorproof XF Server. And that means seeing screened proofs. Depending on the application, and the degree of security required, EFI Colorproof XF offers two options to produce screened output the EFI OneBit Option, and the EFI Dot Creator Option. The screen you proof is the screen you print With EFI OneBit, you can create ICC-based colour-accurate contract screened proofs on a drop-on-demand (DOD) inkjet printer working with the same data that will drive the final output device. One-bit files are a data format produced by imagesetter and platesetter RIPs, and contain the screened, high-resolution, colour-separated data from which films or plates are produced. Each colour separation has its own one-bit file. The EFI OneBit Option reads the one-bit files produced by all leading imagesetters and platesetters, re-merges them and outputs them on an inkjet printer, maintaining the original screening. Because RIPping takes place before proofing, the proof shows the exact content of the one-bit files so defects such as moiré structures can be identified before costly prints are run off. The result is less paper and chemical waste, and savings in time and money.

9 Dot Creator Option From contone to screen proof In contrast to OneBit, EFI Dot Creator tackles the screening challenge from a different angle, by reading continuous-tone data and rasterising it for output on DOD inkjet printers without the need for an imagesetter or platesetter RIP. With EFI Dot Creator, you can produce screened proofs or printouts from continuous tone data creating a convincing simulation of offset, flexo and silk screen proof. The Dot Creator Option is your easy entry to CtIF or CtIP Technology (Computer to Inkjet Film or Plate) a simple and cost-efficient expansion of your production workflow. EFI Color Verifier is a simple-to-use quality assurance solution that measures and compares colour values from proof-to-proof, print-to-print, proof-to-profile, or printto-reference. With EFI Color Verifier you can ensure consistency between a reference print and subsequent prints, check that your proofs match your prints, or check that your proofs comply with a key standard such as ISO Measure, compare, display EFI Color Verifier comprises a spectrophotometer (for measurement), software (for comparison) and a colour control strip displaying industry-standard colour values. The software compares any combination of prints, proofs and reference profiles like ISO 12647, SWOP or Sicogif. The software analyses the data and displays it in three columns, showing the target values (reference), the actual values (sample), and the difference between the two columns displayed in the third column.
