2 This displays all the ebooks available. If you want to browse available titles click in the box next to Only show titles with copies available. Then click Submit. Note: You may notice there are two formats, EPUB and PDF. Both are compatible with the majority of ereaders (Nook, Sony, Kobo). EPUB is the only compatible format for Apple Products (ipads, iphones, ipods, etc). Let s check out a title. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho has two available formats. The EPUB is checked out. The PDF is available. Click on Add to ebookbag to start the check out process. Click on Place Hold to get on the wait list for a title. Ereader and overdrive overview Page 2 updated on 12/30/2011

3 The title is in your ebookbag. Click on Proceed to Checkout: Enter Your Library card number and PIN. This is the same PIN used for the OCLN catalog. (The default is OCLN). Click on the Sign In button. Patron can set the lending period from 7 or 14 days. Click on Confirm Check out. Ereader and overdrive overview Page 3 updated on 12/30/2011

4 How to Download and Transfer to a Device First time users skip to page 7. (First time users, welcome back and start here.) Click on the Download button underneath the book cover. Select Open with Adobe Digital Editions. Press OK Why choose Open with? This makes it easier- no need to look for the file on your computer. 5 Book will download and appear in Adobe Digital editions. Click on the Bookshelves button in the upper left corner of window. Plug the your ereader into the USB port on your computer. 6 To transfer a title, you ll drag the title over to your device and release. To do this: click on the title and while the mouse button is still pressed down, move your mouse to the left so that the arrow is over the ereader device. When a small green plus sign appears, release the mouse button and the ebook will transfer to your device. Now you are done! Eject your ereader and happy reading! 10 Adobe Digital Editions is installed! Now time to set up an Adobe account and authorize your computer and reader. Click on Continue. **Note that if you are using a NOOK that you have registered to make purchases at Barnes & Noble, your device is already authorized. You should use the same address and password to authorize Adobe Digital Editions on your computer. If you do not have a Nook or have not registered it with B&N go to the next step. 12 Once you created your Adobe ID, go back to Adobe Digital Editions. Enter the Adobe ID and password that you just created and click on authorize. Once you have finished, go back to page 4 for downloading and transferring instructions. Ereader and overdrive overview Page 12 updated on 12/30/2011
