1 1. Select the App Store icon on your Home screen.

2 2. In the upper right hand corner type kindle and then press the Search key on the keyboard. Select the Free button for the Kindle Read Books, Magazine app. Select the green button that appears to continue. *If prompted with a popup box for the ibook, select Not Now.

3 3. Select the Use Existing Apple ID when prompted with a pop-up box.

4 4. Enter your Apple ID address and password. Select OK to continue.

5 5. An icon for the Kindle App will show in the background as Waiting. When prompted with the Edit Home Screen pop-up select Dismiss to continue.

6 6. If prompted by the itunes Terms & Conditions Have Changed pop-up. Select OK to continue. If not prompted skip to step #11.

7 7. In the itunes Store pop-up page that appears, swipe up to continue.

8 8. Select the Agree button at the bottom of the pop-up page to continue.

9 9. When prompted with a pop-up box select Agree to continue.

10 10. When prompted with the Download now pop-up box, select OK to continue.

11 11. The Kindle App will now begin loading on your ipad. When the loading and installing processes complete. Select the icon to open the app.

12 12. Enter the Amazon.com account e- mail and password that you plan on receiving the e-book gift with. Select Register this Kindle to continue.

13 13. Once the Kindle App reader is registered with Amazon.com you will be prompted regarding New Features. Select the Close button in the upper right hand corner of this pop-up page to continue.

14 14. If you do not have any previous Kindle books associated with your account the cloud tab should appear blank. Select the Device button at the bottom of your screen to continue.

15 15. Your Device Home screen will display a Welcome to Kindle guide that you can review later. Press the Home button on the ipad to return to the Home screen.

16 16. Select the Mail icon on the bottom of your screen, to access your Hood inbox.

17 17. Locate the sent to you with the subject line A gift from Kate Conway-Turner and select the Get your gift now button.

18 18. The Safari browser will open to the Amazon.com login page. Enter the same Amazon.com address and password that you used previously to register your Kindle App with. Select the Sign in using our secure server button to continue.

19 19. On the page that appears verify that the Deliver to: option displays your ipad device. If another Kindle reader appears, select the drop down menu and locate your registered ipad device and select it. Select the Accept Kindle Gift button to continue.

20 20. If prompted for a new billing address, enter that information and select the Continue button.

21 21. Once your book purchase has been accepted and delivered, you will receive the Thanks screen. Press the Home button on the ipad to return to the Home screen

22 22. Locate your Kindle App icon by swiping to the left from your Home screen and select it.

23 23. Select the Cloud button at the bottom of your screen and you should now see your e- book gift waiting for download to your device. Select the book icon and it will download to your device.

24 24. Select the Device button at the bottom of the screen and you should now see that your e-book has downloaded. You can now select the e-book icon and begin reading.
