How type is created using CS4 ( CS5) Changing spacing and adjust baseline shift. Use of Drop Shadow Style, applying antialiasing to type, modifying type with the Bevel and emboss style, applying special effects to type using filters, creating text on a path. Using Type in Practical problems/designs. (F) identify and use color theory (G) recreate and improve existing multimedia products by applying the appropriate design and layout Using color: mode, model, bitmap, pixel. Color Models: gamut, hue, saturation, brightness, additive colors. CMYK modes: subtractive colors, color separation. BITMAP and Grayscale Modes; Bitmap mode, grayscale mode. Foreground/Background colors: gradient fills, sampling, creating a rendering intent, using color palettes to change foreground/background colors, using ruler coordinates, using hexadecimal values in the info palette, using the eyedropper tool. Using color picker and swatches palette: color picker, adding new colors to the swatches palette. Use filters, opacity and blending modes, manipulating an image, (5) The student analyzes and applies design and layout (G) theory (G) recreate and improve existing multimedia products by applying the appropriate design and layout (6) The student designs and creates digital graphics (C) recognize the various file extensions used in digital and interactive media such a compressions, conversion, and use and modification. 3 Year At a Glance- Digital Interactive Media Second Semester Three Weeks Topics/ Concepts 1 st 3 weeks Collages and Photography Key terms: framing, angle of view, rule of thirds, closeups, tone and sharpness, arrangement, emphasis, balance and high dynamic range (HDR imaging (7)Student appropriate use of digital photography equipment and techniques (A) demonstrate proper use of safety procedures while using digital photography equipment (B)Capture still shot images using digital photography equipment incorporating various photos composition techniques such as lighting, perspective, candid versus poses, rule of thirds, and level of horizon (C) student transfers still shot images from equipment to the computer. (D)student photographic enhancement techniques such as feathering, layering, masking, and color enhancement using appropriate digital manipulation software. 2 nd 3 weeks Logos logo, color wheel, hue, saturation, chroma, tint, tone, shade, brightness, RGB, CMYK, color gamut, color profiles, color management. Student plan, create and build a logo Choose a company to design a logo (8) Student appropriate use of digital graphics (A) create/modify digital graphics using appropriate vector-based and raster-based software following standard design (B) export and set graphics to be used in both print and digital formats (12) Student appropriate project management in the creation of digital media projects. (A) develops a plan for media project such as storyboard, stage development, and identification of equipment and resources. In the process students learn more about applied typography and layout design. How type is created using CS4 ( CS5) Changing Advertisements Bandwagon, Transfer, Glittering Generalities, Namecalling, project management, focus group, usability, design comps, watermark. Students will be working with a client through an advertisement project. The project includes learning how to reach agreement with a client through review and redesign cycles. Newsletters nameplate, masthead, continuation lines, pull quotes, bylines, continuation lines, end signs. Students will work in teams to create a theme, purpose, and content of a newsletter and then learn how to design the newsletter for maximum impact. Students will study the Journalistic Code of Ethics. Students will target a particular audience who share a common interest. Students are directed to create/find articles related with the STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Students will organize into print production roles, managing tasks based on roles. Students will create a Team Chart, with phone numbers, s, and best forms of communication, evaluation of skills and weaknesses, discuss about characteristics of Portfolios Key terms: portfolio, DVD, menu, flowchart, mission statement, burn Students create a PDF Portfolio of the work they have completed and discuss career opportunities in fields such as advertising, public relations, photography, and print production. necessary skills for development, maintenance of employability, and successful completion of (C ) employ effective reading/writing skills (2) student identifies employment opportunities in the information technology field

Students will understand the Illustrator interface, will add text and create a text outline, draw in Illustrator, draw in perspective, compare vector and bitmapped images, understand illustrator filters, create polygons, smooth and simplify paths, and select stroke and fill. with a focus on the area of interactive media (A) identify job opportunities and accompanying job duties and tasks (D) create a portfolio
