This responsive jog shuttle is completely configurable to suit the non-linear editing environment in addition to controlling your VTR via RS-422, silver.control also lets you control various software functions such as DVE, timeline play, audio jog and more. User-defined key assignments allow you to customise the control unit to your own preferred editing style. silver.component Seamlessly integrates legacy analogue component equipment, adding YUV to the CVBS, Y/C and SDI input/outputs already included with silver as standard. 9 silver.printdvd DVD-Video is rapidly transforming the video industry with the kind of impact that the Compact Disc had on the music business, and looks set to replace tape as the distribution media of choice for both business and domestic markets. Technology shifts of this magnitude require new business models. New business models mean new business opportunities. Because silver uses MPEG-2 compression (Editing MPEG, or I-frame only), it s only logical that it should give you a route to DVD. The silver.printdvd option allows you to output your completed project to a DVD compatible data stream (Distribution-MPEG MP@ML IPB) for DVD production or archiving. silver.dv Provides a direct connection for DV-based formats as well as SDI. 11 Technical Background InTime Processing runs entirely in the background, not restricting you or your workflow in any way, even allowing you to play back every single frame of any clip as soon as it is processed. For an editor, silver.intime simply means more creative options, more quickly. InTime Processing makes use of a fundamental principle in nonlinear editing. Whereas video playback is typically a synchronous, or linear process, processing can be asynchronous. So an editing system that can combine continuous synchronous playback and asynchroneous processing can result in better performance and superior quality. The coexistence of synchroneous video and asynchroneous processing does away with the traditional limitations of hardware restricted to video timing. Thus, within FAST-Studio you are capable of playing back video while at the same time processing new material. Additionally, InTime Processing reduces handling overheads and time consuming administration tasks, so all of the available processing capacity within the PC system is used to almost 100%.
