2 Activ Artspace 2018 Entry deadline Artwork submission deadline: Friday, 20 April Time: 4:00pm FEBRUARY 15 Categories Submitting work: All entry forms must be ed or mailed to Activ (see page 4 for details). Entry forms must be accompanied by a photo of your work and also uploaded to Activ s Flickr account (instructions on the next page). Late entry forms will not be accepted. Paint Media Awards - Group and individual entries eligible (including acrylic and oil) Representational Award Work representing the subject matter in appearance and ambiance. Encouragement Award Work that shows passion / talent that the judges want to encourage and see developed. Abstract Award Work utilising composition, colour and texture to evoke a response. Photographic Awards Originality/Creativity Award A photograph that demonstrates originality. Impact/Composition Award A photograph that draws the viewer in and tells a story with an image. Encouragement Award A photograph that shows passion / talent that the judges want to encourage and see developed. All works will be entered into the Judge s Awards, which are presented on the opening night and the People s Choice Award, voted for by visitors to the exhibition. 3 Activ Artspace 2018 Uploading to Flickr Uploading your entry Artists works will be reviewed and shortlisted from the photographs uploaded to Activ s Flickr account. To upload a picture follow the steps below. 1. Go to 2. Click on log in flickr 3. Enter in the activ_foundation@yahoo.com.au 4. Enter in the password: Cambridge327 (please note this is case sensitive) 5. Click on the upload icon (located top right) 6. Click on choose photos and videos 7. Locate your photo within your drive and hit Open (Please save your photo as your name or group name) 8. Click Add a description (name and category) 9. Click upload 1 photo located at the top right corner 10. A new box opens - Click on upload to complete. Artwork Delivery Completed application forms must be received by 4:00pm on Friday, 20 April For assistance with uploading a picture, artspace@activ.asn.au If your artwork is accepted to exhibit, you will be informed to deliver your artwork to any of the following collection points by 3:00pm on Friday, 4 May All artwok not on canvas must framed. All artwork must be delivered ready to hang or it will not be displayed. 4 Activ Artspace Entry Form Entrants must be 18 years or older and an Activ customer. Each entrant may submit one individual and one group piece only. Submitting an application form does not guarantee that your work(s) will be exhibited. Applications will be reviewed based on the photographs uploaded to Activ s Flickr account. Artists will be notified regarding the outcome. If you are chosen to exhibit, you will be asked to drop off your works, ready to hang, to one of the collection points listed on the previous page. Works must be two dimensional and must not exceed 75cm x 75cm in any direction including when framed. Photographs must be high resolution and must be 300 DPI or over. Any work that does not meet these conditions will not be accepted. 5 Activ Artspace Entry Form Sale of artwork Artists are welcome to exhibit for sale if they wish to. Full proceeds of the sale will go directly to the artist. Payment to the artist for any works sold will be paid within three weeks of Activ receiving payment from the buyer. Is your artwork for sale? Yes No If yes, you MUST enter your details below.. 6 Terms and Conditions of Entry 1. Entrants must be 18+ and utilise an Activ service. 2. Entry forms and an uploaded photo of your work must be received by 20 April Each entrant may submit one individual piece and one group piece only. 3. This Application to Submit works is not a guarantee of display. Works will be shortlisted and notified via phone or . Those artists shortlisted will then deliver their artwork to one of the designated sites at the specified times. Failure to do so will result in works not being judged or displayed. 4. The artist can exhibit for sale if they wish to. The full proceeds of the sale will go to the artist. Artists will receive payment within 3 weeks of Activ receiving payment from the buyer. 5. All work must be original. 6. Works must be two dimensional and must not exceed 75cm x 75cm in any direction including frame. Any work in excess of these dimensions will not be accepted. 7. The weight of the entry must not exceed 10kg. 8. Only photographic works may be presented behind glass. Paint media received behind glass will not be accepted. 9. Works must be delivered suitably presented and ready for displaying (i.e. dry and properly affixed with cord/wire to hold weight of work). All artwork not on canvas must framed. All artwork must be delivered ready to hang or it will not be displayed. 10. All works accepted will be included in the judging process. The presentation of the exhibition will be at the full discretion of the curator. Your work may also be selected to be displayed at additional pop up exhibitions. 11. Activ Foundation will appoint a judging panel to select the winners of the awards. Judging, with the exception of the People s Choice Award will take place on 25 May 2018 and will be announced on the opening night. The Judges decision is final and no correspondence or dialogue will be entered into. 12. The artist authorises Activ to use their name, images, film footage and statements for the purpose of promoting the Activ Artspace project and associated events. This includes the reproduction of artworks for promotion and advertising purposes. The copyright attaching to artworks remains the property of the artist. 13. Works will not be covered by Activ Foundation s insurance. Activ Foundation will take reasonable care, however, can accept no responsibility for damage, loss, fire, theft or vandalism. Artists are advised to obtain their own insurance. 14. Activ Foundation will not accept responsibility for the visual representation / interpretation of any works. It is the artist s responsibility to ensure that his / her work is not offensive, liable, defamatory of character or in violation of copyright laws. 15. Works not in line with Activ s values will not be accepted.
