1 HOW TO APPLY FOR A POSITION AS AN INTERNAL APPLICANT Go to MyCWI > Faculty Staff Resources > Human Resources > Hiring / Job Postings (or click here) Click on the link: To view a list of internal job postings in the SilkRoad Recruiting software click here You will be directed to CWI s internal application Web site. Click APPLY NOW You will be directed to a list of all of CWI s current openings. Select the position for which you would like to apply. You will have the option to use a new resume or an existing resume that is already on file. For instructions on how to apply with a new resume, proceed to page two of this document. For instructions on how to apply with an existing resume, see page four of this document. pg. 1
2 TO USE A NEW RESUME TO APPLY FOR A POSITION: Select New Resume/CV Input your contact information, confirm your password, and select Continue You may either copy and paste a resume, upload a resume, or apply without a resume o Note: On this page, you have the ability to copy and paste a cover letter. In this application process, you will not be given the option to upload a cover letter. If you would like a cover letter attached to your application, please the document to HR and we can attach the cover letter to your application. To upload a resume select Upload a resume/cv document and select Continue pg. 2
3 Select Browse and navigate to your document Once you have chosen your file, select Continue You will then receive a confirmation notice on the screen In addition to this confirmation, you will receive an confirmation. o Note: If you do not receive an confirmation, please check your Junk folder. If you still do not have a confirmation , please contact HR to verify receipt of application. *Congratulations! You have successfully applied for the position!* pg. 3
4 TO USE AN EXISTING RESUME TO APPLY FOR A POSITION: Select Existing Resume/CV Input your address on file and password and select Check Records Here you will see all of the positions for which you have applied in SilkRoad Recruiting: pg. 4
5 You must select which resume you would like to use. To review/update a resume before you submit it, select View Resume/CV for the appropriate position A new window will open that will allow you to review your contact information. Once you have reviewed your contact information, select Resume to view your resume. The text of your resume will appear in the second box. o Note: On this page, you have the ability to copy and paste a cover letter. In this application process, you will not be given the option to upload a cover letter. If you would like a cover letter attached to your application, please the document to HR and we can attach the cover letter to your application. pg. 5
6 To upload a new resume, select Browse, navigate to your document, and select Submit Changes pg. 6
7 You will be re-directed to the main View Resume/CV screen and you will see the text of your newlyupdated resume under the Resume section. At this point, you may also update your contact information by selecting Contact Information Once all of your updates have been made, select Close to close out of the window. You will be taken back to the original screen you were on that lists all of the positions for which you have applied. *****AT THIS POINT YOU HAVE NOT YET APPLIED FOR THE POSITION. YOU HAVE ONLY UPDATED YOUR RESUME***** Now that you have updated your resume and/or contact information, select Submit this Profile on the appropriate position on which you updated the resume. pg. 7
