4 Faculty and staff who are eligible for university benefit defined leaves Check with your HR Professional Interns & 9-Month Faculty (Sick Leave Only)
5 Graduate Associates, Residents, and non-benefit leave eligible faculty and staff Graduate students or Residents should still arrange their leaves with their supervisors and submit appropriate department forms For more information see your department Graduate Program Coordinator
6 Biweekly staff will be transitioned to eleave during implementation of the new WebClock/eTimesheet project Projected March/April implementation

8 Do not use the Business Leave form in eleave! Continue to submit the paper leave of absence and consulting/conflict of interest forms as needed Will move to online Business Leave beginning April 1, 2012.
9 Nothing! You will not be able to see requests entered prior to February 1 st in eleave prior Leave balances in eleave reflect balances as per the last month processing cycle (last paycheck)
10 Use your Kerberos ID (name.#) and password to access the eleave system. Contact the OIT Help Desk at (614) 688-HELP (4357) for assistance in confirming your Kerberos and/or password. It could be different or the same password you use everyday to log into your CVM computer. Not able to access eleave without your Kerberos ID/password. To activate your OSU Kerberos ID and name.# account, go to for instructions you will need your employee ID number

12 Submit eleave requests to prior to taking leave Supervisors will approve or deny eleave request Approved eleave requests will automatically upload to the university s human resources system and adjust leave balances
13 Login in to eleave
14 Home Page Displays Menu and Blank Request THE MENU: Prepare a new leave request; Search and view other leave requests
15 Select the Dates of Leave
16 Pick A Job
17 Indicate the Leave Designation
18 Enter the Daily Hours
19 Pick the Type of Leave

22 Enter a Comment CAUTION! Comments Are public record. Do not enter any information that is personal or medical. Brutus Buckeye is my contact while I am away. 23 View Your Leave Balances Brutus Buckeye is my contact while I am away. Phone
24 Take Action Save for Later Click this to save the request for a later time. This will not submit anything to your supervisor. Check the Statement Box and Then Take Action Submit for Approval Click this when you are done with the request and you want to submit it for approval. Return to Home Click this to return to the Home Page without saving the request.
25 You will receive an confirming your request was submitted for approval
26 You will receive another when your request has been approved/denied.
27 To Review Request and/or Edit/Delete Your Leave Request
28 If your request is one of the last 12 submitted, it will be displayed at the bottom on the page.
29 Find the Leave Request Click on View Leave
30 You will see the full request with options to Add or Delete information/rows to the leave dates section.
31 Click Delete on the rows/ days you want to delete (Deleted Requests Are Not Deleted from the System) ADD REASON WHY DELETING LEAVE!
32 Click Add on the rows/ days where you want to Add more days to the request. ADD REASON WHY MAKING CHANGE!
33 After you make your change: Check the box Take Action Save for Later Submit for Approval Delete Change Return Home
34 You can search your leave requests by selecting Search in the menu.

36 There are two ways to access the eleave system to approve/deny leave requests submitted. You can choose either option: Via Link Via eleave Website
37 Access via the link in . Click on the eleave link in the upon receipt (you will receive an once an employee submits her/his leave request) Leave Request Notification sent to you!
38 Access via the link in . When you click on the link in the , it will bring you directly into the leave request.
39 Accessing the eleave system directly. Log in to the eleave system by going to Click Approval List on the navigation bar at the top to view leave requests that are ready for your review.
40 View the Approval List at the bottom. Your complete list of items will load automatically. You can filter your list by using the filter feature. Open a leave request in the Approval List by clicking on the employee name.
41 After you pull up the request.. Review the leave request. Pay special attention to the leave designation and details, comments, and the leave balances. Enter a comment if you need to communicate with the employee. Please note that comments are public record. Approve the request!
42 Take action on the leave request.. by choose an action at the bottom of the leave request : Approve a Request - If you approve of the leave request, click Approve Deny a Request - if you do not approve of the leave request, click Deny. Note that Deny requires you to enter a comment. The employee will receive an indicating the action you take. The Save for Later option will allow you to save a comment and you can take action later. To return to your list without taking action, click Approval List at the top.
43 A word about denied requests.. Denied requests should be consistent with departmental practices Denied requests should be valid and not trivial You must be consistent in your denials so as not to show favoritism or discrepancy! COMMENTS ARE REQUIRED! If you can t be honest with the denial, then don t deny the request! Denied!

45 Go to eleave.osu.edu and sign on with your name.# and password. Click on the Monthly Payroll Certification link at the top of the page.

47 Check YES If They: Are working the entire month; Are working for you for any part of the month including: Are terminating during the current month Are on unpaid leave of absence for all or part of the current pay period Transferred to another supervisor in your department, but worked for you during part of the month Transferred to another department, but worked for you during part of the month.
48 Check NO If They: No longer report to you and didn t report to you for any part of the month No longer work at the university and didn t work any part of the month Were on unpaid leave for the entire month (ie: Personal Leave, Unpaid Medical Leave of Absence, etc.) Can check their leave status in eleave have they been on unpaid leave?
