1 How to participate in the Beyond the Bell Branch President s Volunteer Service Award Program 1. Visit to sign up and to begin tracking your volunteer hours. To start your Record of Service, click on the image link Track your volunteer hours! 2. Your Record of Service is the private online journal of your volunteer service. To create your Record of Service, follow the directions and complete the four easy steps to register. Step 1. Enter a valid address. Free addresses are available from sources such as www. hotmail.com. Step 2. Create a unique password and enter it twice. Make sure you record it in a safe place for future use. However, if you happen to forget it, you can request it be ed to you. Step 3. Enter your first name. This step is optional. You will be asked for your first and last name when you complete your profile in the next screen.

2 next screen. Step 4. Click this button to submit your information and open your personal account home page. 3. Your Home page will open each time you log in. It provides news updates and links to your online journal, resources, and your personal profile. You must update your profile and link your Record of Service to the Beyond the Bell President s Volunteer Service Award Program. Click the Profile tab at the top of your personal Home page to open My Profile. 4. Update My Profile by providing all the required information to make you eligible for the President s Volunteer Service Award through Beyond the Bell. Enter your first name and last name. In the text box labeled Your Certifying Organization, you must enter this code: BNS Leave the box labeled ROS Sub Key blank. Enter the city in which you live. Select California and

3 Select California and United States from the dropdown boxes. Select your age group and gender and enter your address. Choose whether to receive news updates and a newsletter. Click Update Profile and you will see that you are now registered with the Beyond the Bell Branch as Your Certifying Organization. 5. Click on the My Service tab to open My Volunteer Record and begin recording your hours of volunteer service. Enter the name of the school, program, or organization where you serve. Select Youth Achievement from the dropdown box. Select Education & Literacy from the dropdown box. Provide a brief description of your service. Enter your Date of Service in this format: MM/DD/YYYY. Enter your hours of service. Enter the city where you served, and select CA for the state. Click Add this Activity. You can see your newly added activity and hours of service in your Volunteer Record Log. 6. Click on the My Awards tab to set a goal and check your progress.

4 Enter 100 to aim for a Bronze Award, 250 for Silver or 500 for Gold. Click Add. Return to the My Awards page whenever you want to see a graph that shows your progress or to change your goal. 7. When you want to add another service activity and more volunteer hours. Visit and click Login or Track Your Volunteer Hours. Enter your address and password. Click on My Service and follow the directions in Step 5 above.
