11 Standard Mail Notes Users - Mail Preview as it arrives Preference to see a preview of new s when they arrive. A small window appears in the bottom right corner of the screen with a preview of new s, including the subject and sender for the first few new messages. The window remains open for 2 seconds and then fades. 11

12 Standard Mail Notes Users - Mail New Signature feature Simple process to choose different signatures for different messages. When creating a message, you can click the Signature button in the action bar above the message, and then choose between your default signature (if you have one) a new signature from a file on your computer no signature. If you select New Signature from File, you can choose a TXT, HTML, JPEG, bitmap, or GIF file from your computer. If you have not specified a default signature in your preferences, that option will not appear. 12

31 Directory Domino Administrators Dojo XPages will support dojo by default in Domino In Domino XPages supported dojo upgrades will retain existing dojo versions, new installations will only have dojo and Ie: if you are upgrading from Domino you will have dojo versions 1.3.3, and upgrades and new installations will only have dojo Therefore if applications reference dojo explicitly, they will still work on the Domino server but not on the Notes client. Not good development practice to hard code dojo versions into applications. Instead the dojo files can be referenced through a variable which maps to the version of dojo that XPages supports 31

When a KeyView filter is supported, users can view an attached file of that format in a Notes document. Can support no filters, all filters, or as many individual file formats as necessary By default, all 43 filters are supported. 39 Directory Domino Administrators Machine-specific policy settings Allows administrators to apply different policy settings based on a user's machine type or configuration eg: laptop, desktop, basic or standard client, designer or admin client deployed, size of disk, amount of RAM etc Implemented (@GetMachineInfo), in new formula fields in policy settings. For example: the formula in the screenshot will evaluate differently depending on whether the machine is a laptop or a desktop NB. s older than the version, will receive the default setting (no formula evaluation will be attempted) 39

40 * Directory Domino Administrators Purge Interval Replication Control (PIRC) New replication setting designed to prevent deleted documents from replicating back after deletion stubs have been purged Uses Cutoff Date (date that purge last ran) or (if no Cutoff Date) current date minus purge interval * Only one of a pair of replicating servers needs to be Domino in order to use PIRC If server is initiator it will not send invalid documents If server is receiver it will not accept invalid documents (sending server will record documents as having been replicated) DDM events created for documents not replicated due to PIRC Three ways to enable/disable Database Advanced Options (for individual database) Database Options settings in Admin client (for multiple databases) Via Compact using '-PIRC On' and '-PIRC Off' flags 40

41 Directory Domino Administrators console serviceability improvements DEBUG_THREADID=1 is enabled by default in the server NOTES.INI to provide thread data: With this parameter enabled, all console log messages are prefixed with process and thread data like this: [13D0:0002-0B4C] You can disable the parameter by setting it to 0. New default value for console log (server or client) file sizes. Set by NOTES.INI variable CONSOLE_LOG_MAX_KBYTES=10240 Console logs will grow to a maximum of 10MB if console logging is not explicitly enabled or disabled. 41

This Java file is then directly callable by code in XPages. Previous to this release, these files had to be added manually into the NSF Eclipse Java development tool wizards that are designed for such files are used instead of usual design element creation dialogs 45

47 Designer Notes/Domino Developers Source Control enablement Problem: Open-source version source control system such as Apache Subversion work on physical files They cannot directly work with Designer projects that contain virtual files mapping to NSF based design elements. To perform source control operations, they need to work on a project on disk that mirrors the virtual NSF project. Solution: Domino Designer source control enablement feature Works with a source control system Aim is for source control system integration to be as seamless as possible in order to be source control client agnostic Allows NSF based design elements to be stored in a source control repository Allows common source control operations to be performed using Domino Designer. an association is created between an on-disk project managed by the source control client and the virtual NSF based project that Designer tracks. 47

Full text search results sorting in XPages If a view contains dynamically sortable columns and the database is full text indexed, the full text results can be sorted by clicking the Sort icons on the sortable columns in a View control. XPages control properties added to support HTML5 attributes To address requests for changes that would allow developers greater flexibility in using HTML5 attributes, the "attrs" property has been added to most XPages controls and to the XPages StyleSheet and other client-side Resource objects. The "attrs" property allows an "Attribute List" to be specified, where each Attribute will have a name and a value and will appear as a HTML attribute in the main HTML element corresponding to the XPages control. 54

55 Designer Notes/Domino Developers XPages Preload options NOTES.INI variable to preload the XPages runtime on the Domino server or Notes client NOTES.INI variable to preload specific XPages applications Particularly beneficial for improving initial user performance for XPages apps hosted on a server but run in the Notes client JavaScript/CSS Aggregation feature For performance reasons, the XPages runtime now features a new option that dynamically aggregates multiple Dojo modules, or multiple CSS into a single file. This results in the following performance improvements: a decrease in requests sent from the browser to the server An increase in user performance, particularly in the context of networks with high latency an increase in the speed of JS/CSS parsing from the browser. the freeing up of server connections to fulfill other requests. 55
