1 Servers: med-careambulance.com The system is accessible in a number of ways. 1) You can access your account on the server by going to This system will store your and allow you up to 3MB of space for your . It also will allow for the storage of addresses. Regardless of other access options, you can always use this for sending and receiving . After navigating to this address, you will be prompted to enter a username and password. NeoMail is the easiest to use and offers enough functionality for even the most web savvy users. Only use one web-based mail client!! The pages are detailed later in this document. 2) You can setup an client to access the server to send and retrieve . There are a number of good POP3 programs out there. Most people use MS Outlook or MS Outlook Express. There are others out there that are free and work well. The makers of FireFox web browser, Mozilla, offer a fantastic client called Thunderbird. ( It has almost all of the functionality of Outlook, but it is not as susceptible to viruses and other malicious code. Whatever program you choose to use, these are the settings you will want to use when setting up the account from a computer at Med-Care Base. In Outlook: Go to: Tools> Accounts Select, Add New Account, next Select, POP3, next Enter Your Information: Name: Your Name Address: your @med-careambulance.com Logon: your @med-careambulance.com Password: your password Servers: Incoming: mail.med-careambulance.com Outgoing: outgoing.verizon.net Next click on the More Settings button General Tab: Organization: Reply your @med-careambulance.com

2 3) You can also setup your home computer to access the mail server. This can be accomplished in the same manner, but with two changes. The first is the Outgoing server. This will need to coincide with your own ISP s outgoing mail server. Check with your ISP for this information. If you have an existing account through Verizon, OxfordNetworks, Adelphia or Localnet, you may already have this information. The second change is in the account settings. You may want to be able to read the you receive at your home, but also want it available to you at work. When setting up the account in Outlook, go to More Settings>Advanced Tab and check the box for leave messages on the server. All of this is detailed in these instructions. It will leave the messages on the server and they will be available for downloading to you work computer the next time you log on.) 4) The 4 th and final option is to have all of your Med-Care automatically forwarded to another account that you currently have. This can be accomplished by accessing your account at entering your username and password as described above and follow the link for Forwarding Options.
