1 How to post an ad on Craigslist.com A step-by-step guide

2 Welcome to Craigslist.com Over the past decade Craigslist has become a national phenomenon at delivering what are in essence, classified advertisements to a continually growing base of millions of visitors each month. This mostly-free service is geographical in nature and now supports over 570 unique cities within 50 countries and generates in excess of twenty billion page views each month. It s no wonder the tried and true revenue stream of classified ads that newspaper could rely upon for so many years has dried up so quickly compared to the power of Craigslist. We see Craigslist as an important marketing tool for the FSBI regional developers in attempt to respond to posted resumes, posted business opportunities or even the possibilities of resume mining. Please spend some time within the business and resume categories for your target markets to get familiar with how ads are worded and to get a better understanding of spam posts and legitimate opportunities. 3 STEP 1: This is the first screen you will come upon once you go to Select your location- state and then region. Once you have selected your location, you ll want to create an account. FYI-For most categories, posting classifieds on Craigslist is free. There are a few exceptions such as some job postings, brokered apartment rental listings and a few others- and it varies by location.

4 STEP 2: Create an account by clicking on My Account on the top left hand side. There you can select the click here to sign up. Once you type in your address and verification words, you will be sent an to go in and create a password.

5 STEP 3: Once you have created your account, click on post to classifieds in the top left of the site and click on the appropriate category for your craigslist ad.

6 STEP 5: Accept the Terms of use. You have not yet posted your ad, however. STEP 4: Choose job title and location of the job Reply This is your address or any address that you want to post to. Click the option for anonymizing your address if you want to retain privacy. But understand, that if someone writes to you, they WILL get your address if you reply back to them. Choose to publish, unless you want to make any changes. Click on the link to see how your ad will appear to your customers. Tips Keep your posting message handy. You will need it in order to check back in and cancel your ad when you no longer want it posted. The most considerate thing to do once your ad has run its course is to cancel it so that people across your region will not take time to respond for something you are no longer in a position to offer to them. How to remove a posting from craigslist - Click on your address in the top right to access your account. - Click on the listing you want to remove. - Click on the button to Delete this Posting and confirm the deletion.
