1 CAMPUS COMMUNICATION AND EMERGENCY ALERTS Honolulu Community College uses a listserv/mailing list called hcc admin announce l to communicate all announcements that are pertinent to the HCC campus, UHCC system, or University system. Messages include but are not limited to: campus, CC system, or system wide committee minutes; campus, CC system, or system wide reports and/or program announcements; campus, CC system or system wide emergency communications; HR/Personnel announcements; and other general announcements that affirmatively answer, Will the campus benefit from this message? The lecturer listserv, hcc lecturer l, is used to notify adjunct faculty about pertinent information for lecturers and their students at Honolulu CC. When you are hired and our personnel office enters your information into the human resources computer system, you will automatically be subscribed to the hcc admin announce l and hcclecturer l listservs. When you separate from the college and our personnel office makes the changes in the computer system, you will be automatically unsubscribed from both listservs. If you run into problems with the hcc admin announce l or have any questions, send an to hccmod@hawaii.edu. For the hcc lecturer l list, please contact Connie Montero at cbalanay@hawaii.edu. For all other lists, please contact the list owner. The UH Alert emergency notification system alerts the university community in the event of a natural, health or civil emergency. address is automatically subscribed to UH Broadcast, which sends out for administrative and health and safety alerts. You may also sign up for alerts via SMS/text message on your mobile phone using the attached information. If you do not already have a LISTSERV password (this is different from your UH password), Click on get a new LISTSERV password and you will see the following screen.

3 2. After logging in, on the top banner, click on Subscribers Corner. Under Search Options Select Show All Lists in the Show All Lists option and press the Search button to refresh the List Table. 3. Check the box next to hcc-admin-announce-l and any other list you want to subscribe to including hcc-lecturers-l. At the bottom of the List Names column, select the subscribe option & press the submit button. If you run into problems with the hcc-admin-announce-l list, please contact Clara Bantolina, Secretary to the Chancellor at or x226. For the hcc-lecturer-l list, please contact your department secretary. For all other lists, please contact the list owner.

Check the box next to hcc-admin-announce-l and any other list you want to unsubscribe to including hcc-lecturers-l. At the bottom of the List Names column, select the unsubscribe option & press the submit button. If you run into problems with the hcc-admin-announce-l list, please contact Clara Bantolina, Secretary to the Chancellor at or x226. For the hcc-lecturer-l list, please contact your department secretary. For all other lists, please contact the list owner.

You should see the screen below. 5. Select the Radio buttons for the options that you want to make changes for and press the Update Options button. Note: You can also view and change your subscription options for other lists by using the drop menu next to the List Name. You may also view archived messages for all of your lists while logged into this website. If you run into problems with the hcc-admin-announce-l list, please contact Clara Bantolina, Secretary to the Chancellor at or x226. For the hcc-lecturer-l list, please contact your department secretary. For all other lists, please contact the list owner.

8 UH ALERT UH Alert Notifications The UH Alert emergency notification system alerts the university community in the event of a natural, health or civil emergency. The information you provide will only be used in the event of an emergency that impacts the health and safety of the UH community or closures of whole campuses. It will not be shared with others or used for routine UH communications or announcements. Information About UH Alert Automated emergency messaging options include: address is automatically subscribed to UH Broadcast, which sends out for administrative and health and safety alerts. Unsubscribing from UH Alert will not affect sent from UH Broadcast. Alerts can be sent via SMS/text message to student, faculty and staff mobile phones. UH Alert Sign Up Instructions 1. Login with your UH username and password at 2. Tell us the campus(es) or geographic location(s) about which you want to be alerted. 3. Submit your cell phone number. 4. Click Save Changes at the end of the form. 5. That s it! You may opt out or change your information at any time. If you have problems, questions or suggestions, please send us feedback.
