1 Basic Procedure For Using the PremierERP Results Processing Portal For Lecturers and Course Advisors Prepared By Centre For Information Technology and Systems (CITS)
2 INTRODUCTION WHAT IS PREMIER? Premier is an Enterprise Resource Planner (ERP). An ERP is a software for integrated management of operations in a corporate environment Educational or Business environment. It is modular in nature consisting of modules for managing different operations Students Registration, Students Results, Students Accommodation, Human Resources, Payroll, etc. Our interest here is the Students Result Processing Module (Premier Results Portal)
3 GETTING STARTED You need a Premier account An account has been created for every Academic Staff: The first letter of your first name plus your last name is your username and your last name (all in lowercase is your default password). For example, my first name is Olusola and my last name is Oyebola. Hence My username is ooyebola My default password is oyebola You are required to change your default password at your first login. If you forget your password or an account is yet to be created for you, contact the Premier Admin at CITS.
4 TWO WAYS TO LOGIN INTO PREMIER Through Unilag website: Go to results.unilag.edu.ng Login with your username and password. Through the Premier App: Go to premier.unilag.edu.ng/home/download Download and install Premier Setup Login with your username and password. Suitable for all lecturers Necessary for Course Advisors
5 FOR LECTURERS As a lecturer, all you need to do on Premier is to submit your result through the Portal. The procedure is as follows: Go to results.unilag.edu.ng as earlier indicated Login and you will see a dashboard that looks like this. (Note that your dashboard may not be as populated as this)
6 FOR LECTURERS In the Student Result section, click on Download Marksheet You will see a screen that looks like this. Select the appropriate Session, Semester, Programme Type and Course. Ignore other fields and click Download
7 FOR LECTURERS That will create a file with a filename that looks like this: PHS Second.Semester.xlsx Without changing the filename, determine where to save the file and save. Open the excel file. You will see a preformatted file. You may have to click Enable Editing to use the file. Just enter your scores into the score column. If the column comes with zeros you must replace the zeros with actual scores, even if the student s score is zero, and save the file.
8 FOR LECTURERS Go back to the dashboard In the Student Result section, click on Upload Marksheet You will see a screen that looks like this. Click on Choose File and navigate to the location of your saved Marksheet. Select the file and click Submit
9 FOR LECTURERS Go back to the Student Result section, and download the Marksheet again You will see the scores you just uploaded. Check for any errors. If there is error, correct the error on the marksheet and re-upload. If some scores were missing in your original marksheet, check the box that says skip already entered scores and download the marksheet. This will bring out only the names with blank score field. Fill in the scores and re-upload. Check until you are satisfied that your scores have been correctly uploaded. NOTE THAT ALL THIS MUST BE DOWN WHILE UPLOAD IS STILL OPEN
10 FOR COURSE ADVISORS/COURSE COORDINATORS In addition to results uploading, Course Advisors have the responsibility to produce result broadsheets. Broadsheets can be produced either from the results portal (results.unilag.edu.ng) or the Premier App. The procedure for producing broadsheets is the same on both platforms. However, because of some additional details that can only be handled on the Premier App, we shall walk you through the Premier App.
11 FOR COURSE ADVISORS Assuming you have downloaded and installed the Premier App Click on the Premier icon to open the program as shown here Login with your username and password. The program will open with a dashboard looking like this (may not be as populated as this) The left column contains resource menus while the main body only display recently used resources.
12 FOR COURSE ADVISORS/COURSE COORDINATORS A Course Advisor can: Generate Broadsheets for a whole class or for a group of students in the class Generate and Save Broadsheets (a step needed before Submit for Approval ) Submit Broadsheets for Approval View Broadsheets submitted for approval View Approved Broadsheets Reject Broadsheets (if submitted by him) Cannot reject Approved Broadsheets Print out Broadsheets
13 FOR COURSE ADVISORS To Generate Broadsheet: Under the School menu Locate and expand Reports folder Then click on Results Broadsheet
14 FOR COURSE ADVISORS In the window that opens, provide the following parameters: Programme: Select the programme Session: Select the session Year: Select the level Semster: Select the Semester Broadsheet Mode: Select Generate Click on Print Setup to select the right size of paper and ensure you are in screen mode. Click ok to generate the Broadsheet. Ensure that the Broadsheet starts and ends with the serial no. column.
15 FOR COURSE ADVISORS To submit a Broadsheet for approval, follow the same procedure as above: To first select Generate and Save. Go through the same procedure to select Submit for Approval. To produce Broadsheet for one student or a group of students: Follow the same procedure but provide their Matric No. separated by comma in the Matric No. field. To reject a Broadsheet that you submitted for approval: Follow the same procedure but select reject and fill in the Rejection Reason
16 FOR COURSE ADVISORS To print the Broadsheet you have submitted for approval, follow the same procedure but take note that Broadsheet and Summary are printed separately: To print Broadsheet: Select Broadsheet Only Go to Print Setup Select Print To: Screen Working in Screen, adjust Paper Width (Height adjusts automatically) until you are satisfied that the Broadsheet covers the entire paper size with s/n column first and last.
17 FOR COURSE ADVISORS When you are satisfied: Select Print To: File Click on the down arrow in the Save Location field to give your Broadsheet a filename. Click ok and wait for a success message. To print Summary, repeat practically the same procedure with the following adjustments: Select Summary Only (remember to uncheck Broadsheet Only) Select A4 paper size (this will ensure that your Summary is printed in portrait) You may need to slightly adjust the width of the paper.
18 CONCLUSION This manual has been written as a Training Manual But it can also be used as a Self-Guide as you navigate through the Results Portal either in the Premier App or in the Web Portal. As you work around it you get used to it more and more and develop your own style of working with the software, particularly in the area of printing Broadsheets and Summaries. You can always seek further clarification or help from CITS Personnel. THANK YOU.
