PRICING ORDERS WHAT IS AN ORDER? Orders are used by Growers to provide pricing instructions to QSL for GEI Sugar tonnage they have nominated to a Grower-Managed Pricing Product (see page 33 for instructions on how to make a nomination). Orders are not required for nominations made to QSL-Managed Pools. Only the Pricing Manager can place, edit or cancel an order within QSL Direct for a Grower-Managed Pricing Product. Please note that Growers are able to place pricing orders using a Grower-Managed Pricing Product before nominating tonnage to the product, provided this occurs prior to the Pricing Declaration Date for the Season involved. Doing so will cause an automatic nomination to that product within QSL Direct for the tonnes associated with any such order. However, additional tonnes cannot be added to any Grower-Managed Pricing Product by this means or through the nomination process after the applicable Pricing Declaration Date. CREATING AN ORDER There are two ways to access the Orders Page for a Grower-Managed Pricing Product in QSL Direct. VIA THE QUICK CREATE ORDER BUTTONS 1. On the Home Page, select the ABN you wish to order for by clicking on your ABN in the top menu bar and selecting the required ABN from the drop-down list that appears. If you only have access to one ABN, this will appear here without a drop-down arrow next to it. 2. Using the Quick Create Order buttons on the left of the page, click on the Season you want to place an order for. This will open the Orders Page for the Season and ABN selected QSL Direct User Guide Current as of 21 May
VIA THE ORDERS TAB 3. You can also access the Orders Page via the Tonnage Declaration Page for the Season in question. After selecting your ABN (as described in Step 1), just click on the Select Season button for the Season you wish to view. This will open the Tonnage Declaration Page for this Season, as displayed below: 4 4. Click on the Orders tab. This will open the Orders Page for the required ABN and Season, as displayed below: 5 5. Once you have navigated to the Orders Page for the required season by either of the two methods outlined in Steps 2 & 3, click on the Create New Order button. This will open the following New Order Page: 39 QSL Direct User Guide Current as of 21 May 2017.
The New Order Page states the ABN and Season the order is to be placed for, both in the top menu bar and within the Order Details section. Check that this information is correct before proceeding. 7. Start the new order process by choosing the QSL-Managed Pricing Product you wish you use to place the order. You can set this by clicking on the magnifying glass icon beside the Pool field. This will provide a list of available pricing products, as illustrated below: Click on the Grower-Managed Pricing Product you wish to use to select it. This will highlight the chosen product. 9. Click on the Select button to confirm your selection. This will return you to the New Order Page and update its information to reflect your product choice. FORWARD-SEASON ORDERS VS IN-SEASON ORDERS The information displayed and required for each new order will vary depending on the Grower-Managed Pricing Product selected, with in-season products requiring an additional level of pricing activity throughout the course of the Season due to the additional pricing required against the four ICE 11 futures contracts. The following examples illustrate the differences in key fields and processes for placing an order using forward-season pricing products versus in-season pricing products. QSL Direct User Guide Current as of 21 May
PLACING AN ORDER FOR A FORWARD-SEASON GROWER-MANAGED PRICING PRODUCT Once you have selected a forward-season Grower-Managed Pricing Product, the New Order Page information will include: Pool Requirements: Undeclared Tonnes: This is the amount that is available to price. Order Increments: Each order must be placed in a minimum or multiple of this tonnage/lot amount. Pricing Increments: Pricing must done in a minimum or multiple of this tonnage/lot amount. 2. Order Details: This is the ABN and Season you have previously selected to place the order for. 3. Tonnage (Tonnes Actual)/Lots: The tonnage you wish to allocate to this order. QSL Direct will only make available the field relevant to your chosen product. In this instance, the Grower has typed 6 into the Lots field. As a result, QSL Direct has automatically updated the Tonnage (Tonnes Actual) field to reflect the equivalent tonnes (i.e. 6 Lots = tonnes actual). 4. Target Price (AUD/MT): The price you wish to target for this order. Because this is a forward-season pool, the target price is a whole-of-season weighted average in Australian Dollars per metric tonne (AUD/MT). 5. Click on the Submit Order button to proceed with the order. The system will process your order and return you to the Tonnage Declaration Page for your selected ABN and Season. 41 QSL Direct User Guide Current as of 21 May 2017.
Your Tonnage Declaration for this ABN and Season will now be updated to reflect the order in the Open Orders against the relevant pricing product. When QSL fills this order, the tonnage will move from the Open Orders column to the Filled Orders column for this same pricing product. 2. The Undeclared Tonnes (Optional Harvest Pool) amount has also reduced by this amount. 3. The Pie Chart is also updated to reflect this latest order information. 4. The Orders Page for this ABN and Season will also be updated to reflect the order. Click on the Orders tab to open the updated Orders Page. QSL Direct User Guide Current as of 21 May
5 5. Details of your new order will be displayed in the Open Orders Pricing section, as illustrated in the following screen: More information about the Orders Page is available on page 30 of this User Guide. 43 QSL Direct User Guide Current as of 21 May 2017.
PLACING AN ORDER FOR AN IN-SEASON GROWER-MANAGED PRICING PRODUCT Once you have selected an in-season Grower-Managed Pricing Product, the New Order Page will reflect your choice and following information: 1. The Pool Requirements: These reflect the pricing product you have selected and the tonnage nominated to this product. This is broken down into the following fields: Undeclared Tonnes: This is the amount of tonnage nominated to this product that is still available to be used for an order. Order Increments: Orders must be a minimum or multiple of this figure. Pricing Increments: Pricing for any order must be a minimum or multiple of this figure. 2. Futures Months Exposure: This in-season pricing product requires the Grower to price against the four ICE 11 futures contracts listed in a set ratio of 1:2:2:1. This section details the following for each ICE 11 futures contract: Tonnage Declaration: How much you have to price against each contract. Tonnes Filled: Orders that have been successfully completed against this futures contract. Tonnes Open: Orders that have been placed against this futures contract but are yet to be achieved (filled). Tonnes Available: Tonnes that are available to be priced against this futures contract. QSL Direct User Guide Current as of 21 May
3. Order Details: This section details the ABN, Season and Pool you have already pre-selected. Other key fields in this section include: 4. Futures Month: This is the Futures Month that you want the order to be priced against. Click on the magnifying glass symbol to the right of this field to bring up your options and select one of these. 5. Tonnage (Tonnes Actual) / Lots: Depending on the requirements of the pricing product, you need to type in the amount of GEI Sugar you want priced in this order, either as a tonnage figure or as a lot. Only the applicable field will be available to type in. 6. Price (AUD/MT): Type in the target price you wish to achieve against the Futures Month selected in Australian Dollars per metric tonne (AUD/MT). 7. Click on the Submit Order button to proceed with the order. The system will process your order and return you to the updated Tonnage Declaration Page for your selected ABN and Season, as displayed below: Your Tonnage Declaration for this ABN and Season will now be updated to reflect the order in the Open Orders against the relevant pricing product. When QSL fills this order, the tonnage will move from the Open Orders column to the Filled Orders column for this same pricing product. 10. The Pie Chart is also updated to reflect this latest order information. 11. The Orders Page for this ABN and Season will also be updated to reflect the order. Click on the Orders tab to open the updated Orders Page. 45 QSL Direct User Guide Current as of 21 May 2017.
Details of your new Order will be displayed in the Open Order Pricing section. EDITING OR CANCELLING A PRICING ORDER Existing pricing orders in the QSL Direct system have one of the following statuses: Open Pending: This is an order that has been placed with QSL but has not yet been submitted to a bank to be filled. Open Action: This is an order that has been submitted to a bank to be filled. At 3pm every business day, the QSL Direct system collects all orders with a status of Open Pending to submit to the banks to be filled. Once this happens, these orders can no longer be changed. The following morning, any orders not filled are returned to a status of Opening Pending. Orders that are Open Pending can be changed or cancelled up until 3pm on any business day up until the relevant Pricing Completion Date of the Order. For details of this date, please refer to the Pricing Pool Terms available at To edit an Open Pending Order, open the Orders Page for the ABN and Season of the Order you wish to edit (see page 30 for details on how to navigate to the Orders Page). Orders and nominations available to edit have an arrow beside their Order Status, as illustrated on the following screenshot: QSL Direct User Guide Current as of 21 May
1 1. Click on the arrow beside the Order Status of the order you wish to edit 2. Click Edit/Cancel Order. This will open the Pool Order Details form, as illustrated below: To edit the order, make the changes you want directly in the relevant field, such as Tonnage (Tonnes Actual), Lots or Target Price. Then click Edit Order. 4. To cancel the order, click Cancel Order. 47 QSL Direct User Guide Current as of 21 May 2017.
