1 TechNote #110. Rev Notification Setup In PostalMate, choose Tools > PostalMate Settings. Select Notifications on the left pane and choose Notification Settings. Shipment Notification Settings: Enabled: Place a check in the box next to Enabled to turn on Shipment notification. (This is sent after you perform a daily carrier pickup.) Send to: Select the default of either Customer or Ship To. (i.e. if your store typically would send the shipment notification to your customer, select Customer.) Copy to store: Place a check in this box if you wish to have an cc d to the address entered on the left of the screen. Auto send: Place a check in this box to have shipment notifications automatically selected when shipping. This avoids being prompted to add notification on each shipment. Marketing content: Use the marketing content box for any message you wish to display on the shipment notification. HTML may be used here as well. Image URL: If you have a store logo or other image, such as a coupon, you wish to display on the shipment notification, you can enter in the URL (web address) to the path of where that file resides online. Store is responsible for hosting and maintaining the image and location. Shipment Notification: sent when package has been picked up from the store. (Carrier Pickup begins the notification process.) This may be different than the text used for your Shipment Notification. Store is responsible for hosting and maintaining the image and location. Delivery Notification: sent when package has been delivered. Make sure to choose Save for any changes made to notification.

3 Page 3 Ship a package as normal. Using Notification On the Package Details screen (where you click Finish to complete the shipment) you can either: Click Finish as usual. The defaults in Settings will be used. If more information is needed (such as an address), you will be prompted for it. OR Click the Notify Options button to override the defaults, or to enable notifications on the package if you do not have Auto send enabled. You also have an option to add an additional address to the Shipment Notification. If an needs to be added or updated, type the on line 1 and you will see these options. Option to enter in a second address if desired. If the customer address was not added prior to this screen, enter the address here and a new option will display allowing you to choose to update either the Ship To or Customer address. End of day Carrier Pickup Performing a carrier pickup at the end of the day begins the process for both shipment notification and for delivery notification. s are sent in sweeps and typically are sent out within an hour of your carrier pickup. Those shipments that have tracking available will be tracked and once delivered, the delivery notification will be sent out. If an incorrect address was entered, the notification will not be sent or tracked for delivery notification.

5 Page 5 Tracking Options 1. Carrier s website: This is the default on initial setup of notification. This means that when you send out notifications for your packages, the hyperlink to track the package takes your customer to the carrier s website. 2. Other website (simple): The tracking number will be shown in notification, but not as a link. There will be a Track here link that will open the specified web page; where the user will have to initiate tracking by manually entering the tracking number. A simple option for this text link to lead to your store s (or other specified) website...

6 Page 6 3. Other website (advanced): The tracking number will link to the web page you specify, and be inserted into the proper place in the tracking feature. This is done by entering of%%trkno%% into the URL. Depending on the website, the tracking may automatically initiate....a more advanced option takes them to your website s tracking page, and may initiate the tracking process. Note: If your website is hosted by RS Associates, you may contact them for information on setting up the advanced tracking feature. Or, if you are using a service such as packagemapping.com, you may contact them for information on setting up the advanced tracking feature.
