4 What is a report format? A report format is a template for operator reports The standard report types are periodical report snapshot report alarm statistics report Report headings divide the report format into sections The IGSS objects are dragged into the relevant section of the report

11 What is a periodical report? A periodical report is a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly report The report is always based on a report format The report values are calculated on the basis of hour, day and month values saved in Genhdm.mdb

16 What is data reduction? Process values are typically scanned very frequently If IGSS would save all those values, it would take up a lot of disk space Instead, the system reduces the scanned values to one or more data reductions with a fixed interval (base interval) The reduced values BCL values - form the data basis for periodical reports and can be used as the data basis for graphs
17 Data Reduction Timeline Scan interval Base interval Example: Object Scan interval Base interval Data reductions Transfer to history q1 Flow meter milliseconds (10 seconds) 10 minutes Average, Min. and Max. Reduced 0 min. 10 min. 20 min. 30 min. 40 min. 50 min. 60 min. or 1 hour BCL values Every 10 minutes an Average, Min. and Max. are calculated from the scanned values and written to the BCL files in the report folder. Day values Every 24 hours an Average, Min. and Max. day value are calculated from the hour values. Transfer to history is applied. This is done by the data reduction engine, Genhdm.exe. Genhdm.mdb Database tables - HourValues - DayValues - MonthValues Month values Every month an Average, Min. and Max. month value are calculated from the day values. Transfer to history is applied. This is done by the data reduction engine, Genhdm.exe. Hour values Every hour the data reduction engine, Genhdm.exe, reads the BCL data and calculates the hour value. An average, min. and max. are written to the database. Transfer to history is not applied for hour values. 23 hours 24 hours or 14 days 1 month 1 quarter 6 months 1 year 1 day

19 The base class files (.bcl) When the scanned values are reduced/aggregated, they are saved in the base class files (.bcl) The files are saved in the project s report folder The name convention is G<X><yymmdd>.BCL where <X> is the base class (the lowest class is 2, the highest 5) G BCL, G BCL, G BCL G BCL
20 The Transfer to history option Transfer to history Determines how the hourly values are reduced to daily values. Reduced value re-uses the selected data reduction method Actual total value calculates the sum of all hourly values Idealized total value multiplies the average of the hourly values by 24 None disables the generation of hourly values which form the basis for daily and monthly values.
