Tegrity Recording and Proctoring Introduction The Tegrity software can be used as classroom video/screen capture recordings to be uploaded to a secure cloud.

Procedure for Using Tegrity 1. On the Blackboard Help tab, select the Add a Tegrity button to your course link located under Frequently Asked Questions.

Log into Blackboard and navigate to the course you would like to record. Select the Tegrity Classes link located on your course menu.

1 Tegrity Recording and Proctoring Introduction The Tegrity software can be used as classroom video/screen capture recordings to be uploaded to a secure cloud. The video is segmented into chapters for easy review and has a mobile app. In addition, this software can be used for automated exam proctoring. Procedure for Using Tegrity 1. On the Blackboard Help tab, select the Add a Tegrity button to your course link located under Frequently Asked Questions. Choose the course you wish to add the Tegrity link to from the drop down menu and then select the Add Link button. 2. Log into Blackboard and navigate to the course you would like to record. Select the Tegrity Classes link located on your course menu. The Tegrity Class Recordings page appears. The classes you recorded for this course appear on this page. The most recent recordings appear at the top of the list. 3. Select Start a Recording. The Tegrity Recorder dialog box appears.

Tegrity inserts the date and time into the Recording Title field. It is recommended to type a more meaningful title. 6. To verify that the microphone is ready for recording, speak aloud in a normal speaking voice and note the reading of the volume scale. To raise or lower the recorded volume, move the volume control up or down. Your speaking voice should register near the middle of the scale. The audio level should register green (or yellow) on the scale. If the audio level registers red, your voice may sound distorted when played back. 7. Select the Record button. 8. Read the information in the dialog box that appears and Select the OK button. 9. Wait for the recording control icons to appear in the taskbar. The following icons appear: Pause Temporarily stops the recording. Select to pause; Select again to resume. Stop Ends the recording session after you Select Yes in a confirmation dialog box. Recording Volume Indicates the recorded audio level. 10. Begin presenting the class material. Conduct your class as usual. You can open and use almost any windows-based application as needed. For example, you can use PowerPoint, browse the Internet, use Excel or Internet Explorer. Your interactions with these applications are recorded simultaneously with your lecture.

11. When you finish recording your lecture, select the Stop icon on the taskbar. 12. To end the recording, select the required option, as described below, and select the Yes button.

The recording is uploaded in the background when the computer is online and does not affect computer performance.

Select the check box, located on the far right side of the lecture you want to share.

By default, the check box for not allowing anonymous users to view this recording is checked.

Copy the URL and place it where you like to share the recording inside, or outside, of Blackboard.

5 Automated Proctoring The automated proctoring, that is only visible by the instructor, captures both what is on the computer screen and the student s webcam. So that faculty do not have to watch the entire test taking process by each student, the final recordings are presented as chapters in the Tegrity Tests menu.
