1 REPORT CENTER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS We ve enhanced the design of Report Center to meet all your reporting needs while providing a rich interactive experience. This FAQ document will address questions you may have navigating Report Center. For General Passport questions please see the Passport FAQs and Online Help. For Wealth Passport questions please see the Wealth Passport Online Help. 1. Will my report library migrate over to the enhanced Reporting application? 2. 2 1. Will my report library migrate over to the enhanced Reporting application? For IIP Users: The first time you log into the Report Center on IIP your existing report library will be moved over. The first time you do this may take a few minutes for the reports to load but loads will be much faster on subsequent visits. For Wealth Passport (WP) Users: The first time you log into the Report Center on WP your existing report library will be moved over. The first time you do this may take a few minutes for the reports to load but loads will be much faster on subsequent visits. Please Note: once your reports move to Report Center, any additional reports created in Reporting on Global Investor Passport will not migrate over. 2. How do I run a report in the new Reporting application? You have the ability to schedule reports to run at specified frequencies or run a report on an as needed basis. Once a report is configured it is available to run. Configured reports are housed in My Report Library and will have a next to the report name indicating it is available to run. To run a configured report from My Report Library: 1. Hover over the report to display the action caret. 2. Click on the caret and select Run. The Report Status bar will indicate that the report is running, when it is complete, and if there are any errors. 3. Retrieve your report from the report s defined destination (i.e. Completed Reports or Quick View). Access the Creating Reports and Running Reports help topics in the Knowledge Center for more information and step-by-step instructions. 3. Where do I retrieve a report after its run? 1. The Completed Reports view in the Viewing panel replaces the Inbox application for all reports delivered via Report Center. 2. The Report Status bar provides a handy way to access the details of any report that has been run during the present session. It is designed to complement the Completed Reports view 1 2 Access the Viewing Reports help topic in the Knowledge Center for more information and step-by-step instructions. 3 4. How can I find a report? The most direct way to find a report or a report template it to utilize the Filter and Search functions within the Viewing Panel. 1. From the Viewing drop-down menu, select the Library you want to search in. 2. If searching for a specific individual report, select Flat List from the List Mode drop-down menu. If searching for a folder, use Expand/Collapse or Drill Down. If you know the name of the item, simply begin typing the name into the Search field. As you type, the list of items that include the text displays. If you do not know the name of an item, use the Filter options to narrow your 5. How do I resolve a Server Error or Corrupt PDF message when trying to view my PDF Reports? If you are getting a Server Error or Corrupt PDF error message when viewing PDF reports, but some Spreadsheet or Tab Delimited reports work, you will want to first check your HTTP 1 browser settings. 4. On the Internet Options page, click on the Advanced tab. 5. Under HTTP 1.1 settings, ensure that both settings are selected. Please Note: you may need to involve your desktop support group to adjust this setting for you 6. Click OK. 7. Close your browser and then reopen it, and sign back on to Northern Trust Passport. 4 If this does not resolve the issue, then the problem is most likely your corporate firewall. To verify this, try to open up your PDF reports from your home or outside of your corporate network. If you can view your reports outside the corporate network, please contact your IT department and give them the following instructions: Please open up port 80 and port 443 for the following IP addresses which belong to Northern Trust through through through Do I still have access to Sherlock? Yes. Your Sherlock queries are now accessed in Report Center and will be referred to as Customizable Queries. All of your existing Sherlock queries will be placed in your My Report Library and converted into the same folder structures they were in the Sherlock application. New Customizable Queries can be found in the Master Report Library in the Customizable Queries folder. Ver 3.2 northerntrust.com 4 of 9

5 7. Do I still have access to Easy Events and Easy Answers? Yes, both Easy Answer and Easy Event have been integrated into Report Center. IIP users will find a launch point to the Easy Answer application on the Reporting Tools panel.. The Easy Event application has been integrated into the Master Report Library via the Event Reporting report category. This implementation enhances the prior Global Investor Passport product by introducing the ability to schedule and save reports, as well as introducing some new event types. Wealth Passport users will find a Wealth Passport Easy Answers Reporting folder within their Master Report Library. Ver 3.2 northerntrust.com 5 of 9

6 8. Why would a when audited report scheduled not generate? If selecting the When Audited run date option for a monthly report, the report must contain only accounts that are audited by your client servicing team. This report will not run until all accounts within the report indicate they are marked as audited. If your report is not running as expected, you can run the Audit Information by Account report to see which accounts have yet to be audited. Auditing is generally done on a periodic basis, meaning the majority of time only the periodic valuation types will be the applicable option. Additionally, if the report was setup on a current date to run for a prior month, then the audit start date should be set after the date of the report setup. If these explanations do not account for your report not running as expected please contact your client service representative. 9. What is the show all public reports option on Create a Report used for? A user s Master Report Library is built to be concise, providing only the templates most important to do their job. Because the Master Report Library is expansive, initially limiting a user s library enables them to more quickly and easily locate what they need. The Show All Public Reports option expands the reports available, allowing you to choose from to ALL the reports that are available publicly (meaning that do not require access to be granted). 10. What is the purge frequency for Completed Reports? Reports in Completed Reports are purged according to the following schedule: Immediate Requests 18 hours from when the report was run Scheduled One time Intra-day Daily Weekly Monthly Quarterly 30 days from when the report was last modified or viewed Each day Each day Each week Each month Each Quarter 11. Is drag and drop supported? Yes. Report Center supports extensive drag and drop capabilities. The most common use is loading your My Report Library by dragging and dropping folders and reports from the Master Report Library or a Partner s library. This can be done between the various library panels and views. Drag and drop is also available for selecting accounts. 7 12. How do I determine my Flash version? The following Adobe link directs you to a page that provides the version of the currently installed Flash Player running in your Web browser. The page also provides a list of the most current version available for each operating system and Web browser combination. As with all software the latest version should be downloaded as soon as possible when it is made available Why is my Report Center window cut off? This is an issue with the interaction between the browser zoom and flash player rendering. If the browser zoom is greater than 100% then the Flash Player can't tell that Report Center is off the page and ends up being cut off. If this issue is encountered the browser zoom (located at the bottom of your screen) should be re-set to 100%. Click the down arrow to select 100% 14. What do the Report Center symbols mean? Ready - indicates a report is ready to run or has completed successfully. Clicking on this will run the report or folder. Alert indicates a report has run or has completed, but no data was found for the report. Clock - indicates a scheduled report Optional - Indicates an optional report component Defaults Applied - indicates that defaults are applied (exclusive of default filter sets Incomplete - indicates that a required field that does not have all its required inputs fulfilled. It is usually accompanied by an error icon which when hovered over produces a message describing the issue Processing - indicates activity is occurring Error Situation - indicates an error situation. This is usually accompanied by error text when hovered over Drag and Drop - indicates a drag and drop OR selection. Clicking on it will add to the selected list or you can use it as a handle to drag the highlighted items to the selected items box Action Menu carat. Clicking on the carat will display the Action menu. Help icon - indicates that online help is available for the specific content area of the screen Ver 3.2 northerntrust.com 7 of 9

8 Column Selector icon. Clicking on this icon displays a list of available columns to be displayed in that view of the Viewing Panel. Available columns differ with each view. Custody/Accounting Reports - indicates the report is generated from a Custody or Accounting data source Asset Management Reports - Indicates the report is generated from the Asset Management data source Lock - Indicates a user s My Report Library is not available to view or copy from 15. How do I copy an entire existing user library setup to a new user? Within the Report Center you can copy a user s library setup directly to another user in the same manner as copying a single folder or report. You can this from one of three locations: 1. The Report Libraries panel 2. The Viewing panel 3. Manage Report Libraries on the Reporting Tools panel To Copy from the Report Libraries panel or the Viewing panel: 1. Use Ctrl+click to select all the desired folders your My Report Library. 2. Select Copy action from action menu. 3. In the Copy window, select Copy to Partners Report Library. 4. Enter or select a partner ID(this assumes they have the allow sharing option enabled in preferences) 5. Select the My Report Library Root 6. Click Copy. Ver 3.2 northerntrust.com 8 of 9

9 To Copy from Manage Report Libraries 1. In the Manage Report Libraries window, click on Partner Report Library to expand that panel. 2. Enter or select a partner ID(this assumes they have the allow sharing option enabled in preferences) 3. Use Ctrl+click to select all the desired folders from your My Report Library. 4. Drag and drop them to the root of the Partner s Report Library All of the standard copy rules and constraints apply. Please Note: The larger and more complex the library setup the longer it will take for this copy to occur Only reports that the target user has access to will get copied over. The user doing the request will get an error message noting which reports, if any, were NOT copied. If a user does not have access to an account or consolidation the report will be copied, but the account data filter value will be removed. Ver 3.2 northerntrust.com 9 of 9
