The cell phone you choose to pair and connect with must be placed into Discoverable mode so that the Ositech Bluetooth dongle can find the device. Dial-Up Networking Profile (DUN or 1103). This service can be described as a method to connect to a cellular handset. Typically, this service is used when you wish to connect the ZOLL unit via the Ositech Bluetooth dongle to a cellular handset for 12-lead ECG transmissions over the cellular network. 3.2 Pairing The Ositech Bluetooth Dongle To A Discovered Phone 1. The Ositech Bluetooth Wizard will now welcome you. Once the Next button is shown, the Wizard has successfully detected your attached Bluetooth dongle. The Baud Rate programmed on the Ositech Bluetooth dongle and your host system MUST match. This must be for FoIP use. 3. Should you disconnect the Ositech Bluetooth dongle from the Programming Device without effecting any configurations, a window will open advising you the Ositech Bluetooth dongle has been removed. It is recommended that you re-insert the Ositech Bluetooth dongle and complete the configuration. 4. If you do not wish to reconfigure the Ositech Bluetooth dongle, re-insert the Ositech Bluetooth dongle, and exit the configuration software with the Ositech Bluetooth dongle still connected. This is merely a precautionary indicator, and does not indicate any malfunction. Document #: Released Page 11 of 18
4 FoIP PC CARD CLIENT CONFIGURATION UTILITY ***** Notes: Please determine your cellular service provider prior to the configuration of the FoIP PC Card Client. While Ositech strives to provide the most accurate cellular service provider connection details currently available, cellular service providers may alter these connection parameters according to their needs. You are advised to contact your specific cellular service provider, and retrieve the number to dial for your high-speed connection, the appropriate username and password (if required), and the appropriate APN (Access Point Name, for GSM/GPRS providers only). Prior to configuring your FoIP PC Card Client, determine the IP address of the FoIP Gateway, and also the Secondary Gateway IP address if you have redundancy, you wish to use, as this information will be required to configure your client. Please consult your IT department if you are unsure of any of the IP addresses of your FoIP Gateway(s). Prior to proceeding with your FoIP PC Card Client configuration, please ensure that your FoIP PC Card has been properly installed into your Windows PC system. 4.1 FoIP Configuration Instructions The FoIP Client Configurator can be accessed via your Windows Start Menu. From the Start Menu, select Programs, then select the Ositech FoIP Utilities folder, and from here, please select FoIP Client Configurator. Document #: Released Page 12 of 18
You will now observe the Ositech FoIP PC Card Client Configuration Utility. Click to the Cellular Providers tab. Examine the list of Cellular Providers that is displayed, and verify your service provider is on the list. If you have ascertained that your specific cellular service provider is not on the list, you can add it for your use. To add a new cellular service provider, click the New button, however, if your service provider is on the list, click to the Profiles tab to begin your configuration. Enter a Provider Name you wish for this cellular service provider. Next, enter the appropriate connection parameters as required for your specific cellular service provider. These connection parameters include: Phone Number to dial, Username, Password, APN (Access Point Name), and possibly IP Addressing details. When you have entered all the details accurately and appropriately for your cellular provider, click the Save button to save this entry. Document #: Released Page 13 of 18
Click to the Profiles tab to begin the FoIP client configuration. To create a new connection profile, click the New button to proceed. The Profile Name field will now indicate <New Profile>. Please enter a descriptive name for your new profile. The next field is the ALS Unit ID, that is the Advanced Life Support ID, which applies a unique PC Card ID to each client. Enter a unique ALS Unit ID here, however, please remember that each FoIP PC Card client needs this field uniquely named from other clients. This field is limited to 8 alphanumeric characters only. Document #: Released Page 14 of 18
From the Cellular Provider pull down list, please select the cellular service provider that you currently use for your cellular handset. If your cellular handset requires any extra initialization strings, please enter any in the Extra Cellphone Init String field accordingly. Under most circumstances, extra init strings are not required. The next configuration selection to be made is the Cellular Link Speed. From the pull down list, please select your desired fax speed. Ositech recommends you select 14400, as your default speed, however if you are experiencing transmission difficulties, you may choose a lower speed. Document #: Released Page 15 of 18
Next, please enter the Primary Gateway IP address of your FoIP Gateway on the Internet. As well, if you have a Backup FoIP Gateway to use for redundancy purposes, enter the IP Address of the Backup Gateway accordingly. However, if you only have a single primary server, enter the same IP address for both server fields. If you are unsure of the specific IP address of your FoIP Gateway, please contact your IT department for the proper IP address accordingly. The next information that needs to be entered is the Username and Password of the FoIP Client. The default Username is AndroMeda, with a password of (without the quotation marks). You are encouraged to change the Username and Password to make it unique for your FoIP implementation. Remember, you must also add this Username and Password combination in your FoIP Gateway also. Lastly, you must now select your country of operation. From the Country Code pull down list, please select either North America or European. Document #: Released Page 16 of 18
Once all of the configuration fields have been entered, click the Save button to save this profile on your hard drive. After you click the Save button, you will observe the entry for the new profile you have just created. You are now ready to program your PC Card client with your FoIP parameters. Click the Program button to configure your PC Card accordingly. Depending on which cellular service provider you are using, at this point, you may be prompted to enter your 10-digit cellular phone number and your voic password. Please enter your details accurately, as those details are used by your cellular service provider to authenticate you on their high-speed network. Click OK when you have entered your details. The configuration software will now program your Ositech FoIP PC Card Client with your connection parameters. When the programming process is complete, a dialog window will pop up advising you that programming is complete. Click OK to acknowledge the programming phase. Document #: Released Page 17 of 18
You are now returned to the Profiles tab of the Ositech FoIP Client Configuration Utility. Please click to the Current Settings tab. You should now observe your profile in the display window. This is a good time to test your FoIP client / Gateway for operability. Please ensure that your cellular handset has been paired to your Bluetooth dongle, using the DUN profile, prior to commencing this test. Connect your Bluetooth dongle to your FoIP PC Card Client, and also turn your cellular handset on, and enable its Bluetooth, if not already active. To initiate the test, click the Test button on the Ositech FoIP Client Configuration Utility. At this point, configuration software will now attempt to make a FoIP connection to the IP Address of the gateway you had selected. Once the test is successful, you will receive a dialog popup indicating the test success. Click OK to acknowledge the success of the test. Your FoIP PC Card Client is now ready for FoIP transmissions. You may now exit the software, and eject your Ositech FoIP PC Card and Bluetooth dongle assembly from your laptop. Then, insert the assembly into your ZOLL Defibrillator, and proceed to send your faxes as normal. Document #: Released Page 18 of 18
