All subsequent attempts are successful s The Media Gateway, Cabinet, Port Network, Board Number, Port, and Extension fields under the Equipment Type title in the command 'display software' accept a value even though the value is not usable; only the Category field should accept a value. 3 024806s Circuit Packs Invoking the command 'get ethernetoptions #####' before the C-LAN (TN799DP) board is completely initialized gets the message "Error Encountered Cannot Complete Request" rather than the clearer information "Unable to allocate the necessary system resources; please try later." Wait and try the command again after the board has had time to initialize s Maintenance, When the far end of a tie trunk is busied out, the near end of the trunk goes into 'inservice/active', and after about 6 minutes, the state changes to 'ETN BUSY'. All this is correct, but when the far end is released, the near end changes to 'inservice/active' instead of in-service/idle'. Establish a new call from the far end to this switch. This brings the trunks into the correct state s Alarms Failed backups get no alarms. To check that a backup has completed successfully, go to the View System Logs Web page, click Linux Syslog, and then click View Log s The command list trace ras ip-address <ip address> issued on the LSP returns Unknown rather than rcv RCF and rcv RRJ as each message is received s File Transfer, Messaging The Web page times out before it gets done restoring a system with a large CHIA database, leaving it unclear whether the restore was successful or failed or is still in progress.. To watch the progress of a restore, click Restore Status on the left, then the current restore, and then Check Status (but clicking Refresh currently cuts you off from any further information about the current restore, though the restore itself continues normally) s License When Avaya enters "no license" or "license error" mode, it creates an entry for the "message of the day", displayed each time a user logs into Linux. When the license problem is corrected, the software does not update the message of the day entry, causing the user to see a license warning message even after the problem is corrected. On the Web page, see the correct status under View License Status s Logins During a manual ADAP login via the external USB modem, extraneous data appears after the prompt 'Term=[Linux]?'. (This does not prevent login; it only looks odd.) Continue to log in s SAT When a SAT session disconnects abnormally, it may not terminate properly. If this happens repeatedly, all SAT accesses may be used up.. Now such a SAT session automatically terminates after about 40 minutes s There is no IMT/MST capability to trace messages to or from the GIP process s The MST trace does not show MG Service Change Requests.. Disable test s Tracer MST messages were not logged to log files.. Now, MST messages are logged to log files if MST is enabled and 'MSTprlog' is present in /etc/ecs.conf for Linux systems and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOF TWARE/Lucent/Definity/ for NT systems s Modem USB modem stops responding, either when the server is going down for a reboot, or during or after an incoming call.. A hung modem now recovers via periodic maintenance, error analysis testing, or on-demand request using the command 'testmodem -t reset_usb'. Physically disconnect and reconnect the modem s Logins, Security Disabling the craft and inads logins via the SAT (as, disable login craft) does not completely disable access by these logins s An LSP inherits the errors from the primary controller when it receives the translations from that server, rather than clearing the error log after translations are read in, and may thus report obsolete or irrelevant errors s IP Trunk When an IP trunk call is shuffled, denial event 2308 is logged even if shuffling was successful s ASAI, If the switch drops ASAI messages sent over a co-resident DLG CTI link, no hardware error is logged and MST incorrectly shows those messages as properly sent s File Transfer You cannot restore a backup when that backup has been stored on a Windowsbased ftp server. Load (Release s, It is not possible to specify a media module port in the ISDN, BRI, and Vector Port fields on the MST form. G700, Media Module Load (Release s Announcement s, Measurements The command 'list measurements announcements integ-all' always displays a value of zero in the field Max Callers on Board in Period. 5 022169s ISDN, QSIG If MWI ( Waiting Indicator) lamps are not working for QSIG voice mail, manual repair requires service interruption rather than being possible remotely, without service interruption, via SAT. Load (Release s G700, Alarms An alarm LED remains on, indicating a problem with the G700 even though no problem condition exists. If the LED remains on even after you verify that no alarms are present, check that the LED panel board is correctly seated s Terminal Support When you press the cancel key to cancel a remote trace route through an endpoint, the cancel message is not sent to the endpoint. Wait for the remote trace route to finish h G700 The command 'show voip vx' does not always show the correct number of Total Channels under VoIP Engine Parameters.. The number of Total Channels no longer appears under VoIP Engine Parameters h G700, File Transfer If an Embedded Web image has been downloaded to the P330 in the G700 media gateway, the version in bank A (where that image resides) appears as To see the version number of the Embedded Web image, use the 'dir' command. Look at the version number for the EW_Archive h G700, Multi- Frequency (MF) Signalling, MF signalling does not work on trunks connected to a G700 media gateway, causing calls to drop in the first 2 or 3 seconds. ) h BRI, sequencing errors may lead to BRI performance degradation, such as delays in getting dialtone, or call setup failure. ) h BRI sequencing errors may cause loss of connectivity in the BRI module. ) s Administered Connections The SAT command 'status administeredconnection all' receives the response: "all" identifier invalid. Issue the command for each connection separately h G700, Multi- Frequency (MF) Signalling, MF signalling does not work on trunks connected to a G700 media gateway, causing calls to drop in the first 2 or 3 seconds. ) s The command 'statapp' shows too many processes on the 'DEFINITY' or 'MultiVantage' line of the output s SAT At the Terminal Type prompt for SAT, if you do not use upper case to enter VT220, you see the message Invalid Terminal Type s FTP access to the S8300 media server by the "anonymous" login is enabled by default.. Now, this access is disabled by default. To use it, enable it via the S8300 web interface s Links Commands of the form 'list cti-link <x> count <y>' do not execute properly; only ctilink "x" is listed, rather than x plus up to y links following it. Thus, for instance, IP trunk groups may report link status inaccurately, causing delays in associated services such as Remote Office alarming or putting links back into service.
