4 RDUNDNCY Overview of Redundancy Feature : The thernet communication module can be configured to dual-redundant communication by two adjacent modules. (odd number and even number slot). There are two types of dual-redundant configuration. thernet Communication Module Dual-Redundant Configuration Network Dual-Redundant Configuration Dual-redundant configurations are applicable for bus node unit, R bus node unit and the modules in the FFC FCU slots. thernet Communication Module Dual-Redundant Configuration This type of dual-redundant configuration is for a pair of modules working in a same domain. 5 5 Network Dual-Redundant Configuration This type of dual-redundant configuration is a communication topology that not only using a pair of modules (oddnumbered slot and even-numbered slot) in DC side but also using two communication interface cards in subsystem side to form a network with two separate domains (*). The network cannot be branched beyond gateways. *: Only when several communication modules can be inserted into the connected subsystem, network redundant configuration is available.
