3 Server Configuration Settings after Installation After Installation it is recommended to configure high-level Server settings: settings Session Time-out and Timeout Warning Period for user Batch Session Timeout (open capture activities) Multiple Logons (Y/N) Archive Finished Jobs (Automatic/Manual) Disable Logon without Password (Y/N) Business Calendar (Y/N) You will be required to restart TotalAgility Core Worker Service, TotalAgility Streaming Service, and TotalAgility IIS Application Pool 3

10 Understanding Properties Extended Properties This is a toggle that allows you to toggle between the selected objects design view and its properties. General properties for the selected object. 10

12 Understanding Explorer Links Click on the name of the object to open it. Click icon to perform an action on the object e.g. delete, open 12
13 Selecting Nodes Select a Node Click on the node Select Multiple Nodes Click on the first node Hold CTRL key to select additional nodes Select Contiguous Nodes (lasso) Hold CTRL key Draw a rectangle around the contiguous nodes you wish to select 13
14 Moving and Connecting Nodes Move a Node Select the node Hover away from node text but inside node perimeter to get the arrow cursor Hold left mouse button down and drag to new position Connect Nodes Select the node Hover mouse over node text to get the hand cursor Hold left mouse button down and drag to the middle of the node you wish to connect to
15 Process Types Business Process When the flow of your processes can be completely defined at design time i.e. the order and sequence of each activity and process is clearly definable. Case Processes If there is an inability to determine the flow of the process at design time, and whether knowledge workers may be responsible for determining the flow. Case Definition and Case Fragments Business Rule Special type of re-usable process that can only contain automated nodes 15
16 Process Terminology Job Run time instance of a process Embedded Process One process embedded inside another Organizational tool used to break a large process into smaller processes Sub Process Business process that can be re-used in other processes Create New Job (Process) Initiate an instance of another process 16
17 Cases and Business Processes Two models in KTA Simple business processes where the path of execution can be clearly defined e.g. expenses or holiday request Complex case processes where there are optional processes that may or may not get executed as part of the case and where knowledge workers may drive the process. BPM is highly repeatable, while CM is unpredictable. BPM focusses on transactions, while CM focusses on knowledge.

19 Create a Case Definition and Case Fragment No clear path of execution Knowledge workers drive the process Typically last longer than standard business processes Typically document centric Case Definition is the main process Each case has a Case Reference (unique identifier) Fragments are mandatory or optional processes associated with the main case Fragments are tied to a definition i.e. not re-usable Case Fragments can automatically access case level data
20 Embedded Processes Organisational tool to reduce size of a large/complex process Break process into chunks and embed If process goes beyond 2 A4 or Letter size pages Can embed case fragments i.e. they become mandatory part of the flow
