Data Explorer Overview Introduced in software version 4.2. Version 4.3 added support for FFT data to the Data Explorer. Displays different types of data including dynamic crank-angle data, spark statistics, balancer and FFT data all in a spread sheet style format. You can view transient and regular FFT data, delete bad or unwanted data, and permanently change the RPM associated with FFT data. It operates similarly to the Modify/Remove Line feature, except that it lets you view all data, instead of only the current plot. Gives user the ability to edit several parameters at once, like the time stamp, RPM, run number, load step, temperature, degrees offset and panel values. 3 PROPRIETARY
Data Explorer Overview Multiple ways to get to the Data Explorer With a machine open, go to Utility Data Explorer In the Modify / Remove Line, select Data Explorer Use the Tool Bar quick button 4 PROPRIETARY
Data Explorer Overview Customizing the Tool Bar Tool Bar buttons can be added / removed or rearranged as needed. Right click anywhere on the Tool Bar and select Customize 5 PROPRIETARY

Manipulating Data 35 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Data Explorer enables the user to edit several parameters (time stamp, RPM, run number, load step, temperature, degrees offset and panel values) at once. All of Windrock MD's spreadsheet-style editing features are available: copying and pasting to and from spreadsheets, selecting a group of cells and typing a value to update them all at once. Modify / Remove Line only allows for single line edits at a time. 36 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Timestamp The timestamp for groups of data can be modified by highlighting the appropriate cells and using the up / down arrows to change the time. Hour, minute, second, and AM/PM field can be adjusted. Once modified, the edited data will be reflected in MD plots and reports. Data Explorer timestamp adjustments use the 12hr clock format. MD plots and reports use the 24hr clock format. 37 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data RPM The RPM for groups of data can be modified by highlighting the appropriate cells and typing the correct RPM. Very useful for FFT data which does not have the RPM set in the route. Once modified, the edited data will be reflected in MD plots and reports. 38 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Run Number The Run Number for groups of data can be modified by highlighting the appropriate cells and typing the correct RPM. Very useful for separating collected data. Once modified, the edited data will be reflected in MD plots and reports. 39 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Load Step The Load Step can be modified by highlighting the appropriate cells and typing the correct Load Step value. Once modified, the edited data will be reflected in MD plots and reports. 40 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Degrees Offset The Degrees Offset can be modified by highlighting the appropriate cells and typing the new offset value. Once modified, the edited data will be reflected in MD plots and reports. Easier to modify an entire day offset using the Modify / Remove Line function. 41 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Degrees Offset Modifying degree offsets for a group of data is easier in the Data Explorer. Banks or cylinders Modifying day offsets for an entire run is easier using the Modify / Remove Line. Modifying a permanent offset is easier using the Machine Geometry Offset ( after TDC) field. 42 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Temperature / Panel Data Temperature and Panel data can be modified using the Data Explorer. Manual and Infrared Temperatures can be modified. Once modified, the edited data will be reflected in MD plots and reports. 43 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data VE and Toe Adjustments Volumetric Efficiency and suction / discharge pressure toe points can not be altered in the Data Explorer. Changes to VE and Toe points made using the Adjust VE s and toe pressures button from the main MD toolbar, will be reflected in the Data Explorer. 44 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Modified data will be displayed with a yellow background until the Save button is pressed. While the fields are still highlighted yellow, the Undo Last Edit button can be selected to reverse the edit. 45 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Entire data sets can be moved to different dates. If analyzer clock is incorrect 46 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Deleting Data Single or multiple data points can be deleted using the Data Explorer. Be cautious when deleting data. Make sure it is data that is not needed. Back up your data before making irreversible changes. May be necessary to remove bad data, data taken on a wrong point, data not relevant to the performance analysis of a selected machine. 47 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Deleting Data Examples of when deleting data is appropriate. Be able to spot bad data. 48 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Deleting Data Be able to spot bad data. 49 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Deleting Data 50 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Deleting Data In the Data Explorer Locate proper cylinder Find the problem traces Select the line or lines and delete 51 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Deleting Data The averaged trace has been removed and the number 5 trace. 52 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Deleting Data Engine pressure traces or data with statistics will not be recalculated after problem data is deleted. 53 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Deleting Data Engine pressure traces or data with statistics will not be recalculated after problem data is deleted. 54 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Deleting Data Good practice to check the power cylinder stats on the analyzer before you leave the machine. 55 PROPRIETARY
Manipulating Data Deleting Data If a representative trace is displaying a bad sample trace, the problem sample can be deleted. The software will select another trace to display as the representative. A representative trace is the closest trace to the actual average of all the sampled traces. Be cautious when deleting. Problems could be occurring intermittently. 56 PROPRIETARY
Tips when using the Data Explorer 57 PROPRIETARY
Tips when using the Data Explorer Precautions Be careful when manipulating or editing data. Since groups of data can be easily edited at a time, it is important to verify that the data being edited is the proper data set that needs adjusting. Data that has been modified will have a yellow background. Before saving, check to see it is the correct data set. 58 PROPRIETARY
Tips when using the Data Explorer Precautions Edits do not reflect across different data types. A run number that was adjusted in Dynamic data will not be changed in Balancer data. Edits should be adjusted for a particular data date in all data types, when necessary. 59 PROPRIETARY
Tips when using the Data Explorer Back-up data Making a back-up of your data before editing is a very good idea. The easiest way to make a backup is to open the Station/Machine Manager, rightclick on the station, choose Zip, make sure to include the machine data you want to back up, and save the machine archive file in a safe place. 60 PROPRIETARY
Tips when using the Data Explorer Send updated data to Analyzer Don t forget to send the updated data files to the Windrock analyzer for database consistency. 61 PROPRIETARY
Tips when using the Data Explorer Do not use for evil! Adjustments made to the data should be to help the analysis not to make the unit health appear to be something that it is not. 62 PROPRIETARY
