5 Open an Existing Report Form o Sometimes it may be quicker to create a new form from an existing Private, Shared, Company or System form if there are only a few changes or additions 2017, Construction Rev. 10/01/17 Session 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor Form Design Lab - 5

6 Save the Current Report Form o Forms can be saved as Shared, Private or Company-specific o Forms follow a specific naming pattern (i.e., System.Subcontract) o When using a System Form, retain the file extension (i.e.,.subcontract) and save the new form with a unique file name (i.e., TUG.Subcontract) Change the Font o Activating prior to adding object fields will retain selected font attributes until changed o Fonts can also be changed selectively using Object Properties function 2017, Construction Rev. 10/01/17 Session 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor Form Design Lab - 6

7 Change the Drawing Color o Activating prior to adding object fields will retain selected color until changed o Colors can also be changed selectively using Object Properties function Check the Spelling of Text o By default, spelling errors will underline in red as text is entered in a field, but once field is completed, underline will go away o Highlighting an object field and activating Check Spelling will present solutions o Words can be added to the System dictionary, either privately or shared 2017, Construction Rev. 10/01/17 Session 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor Form Design Lab - 7

8 Align Text to the Left o Text aligns itself to the furthest left where the text begins, not the left margin Align Text to the Right o Text aligns itself to the furthest right where the text ends, not the right margin. Define Calculated Fields o Calculated fields are designated by <<xxxxxx^xxxxxx>> in form (i.e., actpay^mallbl) o Global Calculated Fields Select an existing Calculated Field from List Each Calculated Field needed in form must be selected and Saved 2017, Construction Rev. 10/01/17 Session 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor Form Design Lab - 8

9 o Pre-Defined Calculated Fields Pre-defined calculated fields must be typed directly into the form design, whereas global calculated fields must be added from the Calculated Fields window Most, but not all, of the pre-defined calculated fields are also global calculated fields o Create Calculated Fields from Scratch Will be covered at National Conference 2017, Construction Rev. 10/01/17 Session 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor Form Design Lab - 9

10 Insert Fields from a List o For each field you want to insert, create a new text box o Insert a Field list is organized by Table, then the Fields available in each table o Suggest Listing Tables and Fields by name o Bottom of Insert a Field dialogue box lists Calculated Fields that have been added and are available to insert into form 2017, Construction Rev. 10/01/17 Session 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor Form Design Lab - 10

11 Select Multiple Objects by Drawing Around Them o Used to select individual or multiple field objects to cut, copy, paste, align, or activate Object Properties Select tool, left click on object to highlight OR Select tool, left click and drag box around multiple objects to highlight fields OR Select tool, hold Ctrl key and left click on each field to highlight 2017, Construction Rev. 10/01/17 Session 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor Form Design Lab - 11

12 Add Text o Select tool and click anywhere on form to begin Text field o NOT a word processing program; hard carriage returns required o Any text fields that will have a varied font need to be created separately Insert a Picture o Graphic file must be.bmp,.gif, or.jpg format and saved in \Sage100Con\Common\Report Forms directory o Select Insert a Picture tool to bring up Assign Picture dialogue box, open graphic file o Picture can be resized or moved as desired 2017, Construction Rev. 10/01/17 Session 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor Form Design Lab - 12

13 Draw Lines o Draw vertical or horizontal lines, but not angle or diagonal o Select Draw Line tool first, then go back and Select Object, right click, and modify the line properties Draw Boxes o Select Draw Boxes tool, left click in location where you want to place one corner of the box and drag the pointer diagonally to the size desired o After drawing box, then go back and Select Object, right click, and modify the box properties 2017, Construction Rev. 10/01/17 Session 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor Form Design Lab - 13

14 Create a Report Detail Area o The detail box determines where the body of the report appears on a form design when you generate the report o Select tool, click in the location where you want to place one corner of the detail box, and drag pointer diagonally to the size desired Change the Page Setup o Standard page layout options o Snap to Grid Position and Background Grid useful for placement of objects 2017, Construction Rev. 10/01/17 Session 4-8 Sage 100 Contractor Form Design Lab - 14
